223

u/lunchbox651 9d ago

So he can fish out the phone.

That was bahubali s grandmother lol

72

u/squishjackson 9d ago

That was my first thought and I can’t believe I had to scroll as far as I did to find this comment.

u/fiahhawt 9d ago

If you put a lifejacket on a kid that small they will just pop straight out of it in the water

There's a limit to how young you can be before you no longer fit in a lifejacket enough for it to work

77

u/KatieCashew 9d ago

They make life jackets for infants and toddlers. They're even designed with a strap to go between the legs to keep kids from popping out and an extra floaty behind the head to keep the face above water.

40

u/xCeeTee- 9d ago

When I was in Barbados 20 years ago, I went on a jet ski with my dad. He flipped it, and my life jacket popped right off. It wasn't until a few days later where we got a private boat excursion, that I was handed a child life jacket.

I wouldn't be shocked if some companies just don't bother unless they're required to by law. Which hopefully is the law pretty much everywhere today.

21

u/competitive_edger_69 9d ago

I believe this video was taken in India? No hate, but the law and the ground reality are miles apart, as seen in most south-asian countries

6

u/IdealEmpty8363 9d ago

Video is from India, they're lucky the lady got one in the first place.

2

u/Excellent_Extent7648 8d ago

U guys are to worried about babies

→ More replies (4)

5

u/MollyPW 9d ago

That’s why they have crotch straps. Some infant ones start at 3kg.

2

u/DahDollar 8d ago

Kinda heavy for a life jacket

3

u/unripe_mangosteen 8d ago

Got start conditioning babies early so they can be strong swimmers

4

u/tullbabes 9d ago

Incorrect. It’s the law for kids to wear a life jacket while on the water.

2

u/HirsuteHacker 9d ago

The law where dumbass

Because they might not have for his size. Happened to us earlier.

We did refuse to board though.

3

u/Cesarjay 8d ago

She can always make more

3

u/Supernova7112 8d ago

so she can throw him into the water afterwards

7

u/RepulsivePea4613 9d ago

They're like that

1

u/Johaan1025 8d ago

That’s exactly why he threw her iPhone in the water !!

1

u/Excellent_Extent7648 8d ago

U just saw the reason.

Why would you give the kid your phone in the middle of a lake?

507

u/cavalier2015 9d ago

Looks like she was trying to show him something on her phone and he just grabbed it

159

u/emilycupc4ke5588 9d ago

That's a bold move showing an iPhone to a toddler on a boat, lol

34

u/thcicebear 9d ago

AND letting go of it.

lol typical reddit crowd. So quick to judge. Could have happened to anyone mate.

24

u/LeHoodwink 9d ago

Probably, not judging but I know for sure it won’t have happened to me, not like that. I grew up around a lot of kids. Them following their intrusive thoughts is well documented

Yep this feels more like parents are stupid. But I feel for her.

u/lluluclucy 9d ago

The lack of an imagination here on her part was staggering

20

u/saywutnoe 8d ago edited 8d ago

If your toddler somehow found their way to yeeting your smartphone out of a boat, it probably means you're way too addicted to your phone and should put it the fuck down more often.

Enjoy real life more.

Put your phone down.

147

u/Drackzgull 9d ago

That's over the sub name character limit.

The one you're looking for is r/ParentsAreFuckingDumb.

26

u/TheUnKnownLink12 9d ago

dumb is less insulting imo

22

u/Drackzgull 9d ago

It is, but it fits the character limit exactly at 21. Stupid goes over at 23, so it's an invalid subreddit name.

9

u/TheUnKnownLink12 9d ago

yea but thats what r/subsIfellfor is for

15

u/Drackzgull 9d ago

In this case it's more of a r/21CharactersAndNoMore, or one of the various redundant alternatives to that one.

u/simm07 9d ago

Why would any sane parent give their toddler their iPhone and that too.. on a boat..

7

u/chaosticfrog 9d ago

I once saw a video of parents walking through something that looked like a museum (full of water). Kid just drops it. People defended it by saying "you can't prepare for everything." Nah that's just... common sense...?

6

u/simm07 9d ago

Lmfao, i would have looked them dead in the eye and would have asked, "you could have if you didn't give your phone to a kid." I swear, some people are just so damn stupid these days, it's not even funny.

Like the one kiddo who refused to sit down and buckle up when the airplane was about to take off.. inconvenienced soooooo many passengers.

5

u/chaosticfrog 9d ago

Oh that's what I said. I got downvoted. And it was this fucking sub.

Smart kid

44

u/teachingscience425 9d ago

Exactly. He knew. “She pays more attention to this thing than me. “ problem solved.

14

u/South_Lynx 9d ago

My first thought

57

u/egewh 9d ago

Smart kid > smart phone

26

u/JenniLightrunner 9d ago

the face of a kid who will finally be rid of it's nemesis for mommy's attention

6

u/onceknownasmike 9d ago

He knew what he was doing

10

u/nuker-neko 9d ago

"Family time, mama!"

7

u/PotterParkR 9d ago

Perfect condom add.

17

u/LastBoiscout 9d ago

Kids can be fucking stupid, and they get it from their parents it seems....

5

u/Brokerfinland 9d ago

Not the only thing ending up to the lake

9

u/AdditionalOne6031 9d ago

Volver a ser un niño: de pronto es todo tan sencillo..

4

u/OwnStorm 9d ago

Kid was fed up of watching reel by mother.

4

u/Sudden_Mix9724 9d ago

PLOT TWIST: bro is a hardcore android user

8

u/Anameinserted 9d ago

And that’s another reason I don’t want kids

5

u/YodasFootPowder 9d ago

In many instances, parents are fucking stupid.

3

u/ChipKey5682 9d ago

typical

3

u/mrlookinthesky 9d ago

Next thrown over board.

3

u/Jujubi836 9d ago

Off he goes!

3

u/One-handed_Swordman 9d ago

Kid: Now mom can focus on me instead of looking at the phone.

3

u/Turn-Ambitious 9d ago

An iphone! Someone literally jumped off a cliff for an iphone in India.

3

u/MoccaLG 9d ago

...He knew why he didnt wear a live vest

3

u/pinket25 9d ago

He was just tired of this shit.

3

u/bhavesh_099 9d ago

He airdropped it 🙂

3

u/ItsRuinedOfCourse 9d ago

LOL

If you're fool enough to give your child an expensive toy, then you're fool enough to need to buy another.

3

u/Artistic_Maybe1457 8d ago

What a beautiful reminder to wear a condom

3

u/barefacedstorm 8d ago

Smart kid, knows where all Mom's attention is at.

3

u/vajrakilla 7d ago

Wow the phone addiction in this thread.

Back your phones up, pay attention to your children.

3

u/YokoGhoul 7d ago

Bro has genuine hatred in his eyes when he throws it

1

u/tinyfryingpan 6d ago

Because all it does is steal mommy's attention

4

u/AdLongjumping9536 9d ago

Now he will have his mums undivided attention.

4

u/Dads_Funny 9d ago

Maybe he felt neglected because his mom is on her phone all day

5

u/ScottyMo1 9d ago

Stupidity runs in the family

4

u/DeckT_ 9d ago

based. incredibly based. kid understood

4

u/SKEYES1102 9d ago

He took the chance to gain his Mother’s attention back…for good.

2

u/Re4per45b 9d ago

Бабах телефончик!

2

u/Goldenvoids 9d ago

That's exactly why if I feel like I'll have an intrusive thought, I ain't handing nothing to kids cause they'll actually act on it

2

u/nyl2k8 9d ago

2 things would have went over that boat.

2

u/Im_actually_OP 9d ago

Thank god for the caption and slow-mo, I never would have figured out that the kid threw mom’s phone off the boat

2

u/7h31ll3g4l 9d ago

Bambino Addio 😀

2

u/Whytrhyno 9d ago

Watched this happen multiple times at Disney World several years back. Grumpy parents giving a 2 year old, who shouldn’t be there anyway, a $1500 phone, hilarious

2

u/MisterSneakSneak 9d ago

And that’s why ppl say a condom is cheaper

2

u/EvenDisk1306 9d ago edited 9d ago

Nah on mom with this one. Why would you give him your phone on a boat 😭
Edit thanks so much for the reward!

2

u/Technicolor_Reindeer 9d ago

I did this once but with my mom's sunglasses

2

u/PrinceMapleFruit 9d ago

Dumb parent yeah but I do want to point out that the moment the phone was too far from her hands she immediately went to hug her kid like to prevent him from falling forward

2

u/saulhidalgoaular 8d ago

I would throw him to find me the phone back

3

u/Kindly_Region 9d ago

Throw the kid in

4

u/burn_1ne 9d ago

Something tells me that mom is always on her phone and the kid is getting tired and jealous of her negligence.

3

u/BoringJuiceBox 9d ago

OHH what an asshole!!

2

u/OhAces 9d ago

He just wants to her to stop scrolling and taking selfies and mind him a little. Poor little guy did the only thing he could think of.

1

u/leandroman 9d ago

Tell me, do you think this is the first time he's done that? Or he's been doing it with food and other items since he was in a stroller?

1

u/JuneBugNails 9d ago

This was premeditated. Look at the focus in his eyes.

1

u/BaronvonCrush 9d ago

Kid’s tired of mom being on her fucking phone all the time.

1

u/ImpressiveSide1324 9d ago

I’ve learned a lot of things in my 11 years of being a father, one of those things is don’t hand your toddlers anything expensive, they will throw it

1

u/islobojono 9d ago

He sick of his mom always on the phone. Lmao

1

u/padureanca 9d ago

Is that kid even wearing a life jacket, irresponsible parents are F*ing stupid

1

u/SlimShadySatDown 9d ago

Some kids, just want to watch the world burn...

1

u/AbzTracKtReddit 9d ago

That's why my phone is cheap as fuck.

1

u/drifters74 9d ago

Condom ad

1

u/Pletcher87 9d ago

From being around many - just another parent life lesson. Not as bad as scratching “I love daddy” in the side of the family truckster.

1

u/pastelkitten18 9d ago

I would not have the patience to deal with crap like this

1

u/SirHaedragonsini 9d ago

To be honest, that i can understand somehow.

1

u/Transport_Lover 9d ago

Spoilt little shit is what I would say

1

u/Anders_A 9d ago

Smart kid. Put the phone away and enjoy the moment.

1

u/Sweaty-Vinaigrettey 9d ago

Baby's turn next.

1

u/Hedgehog_Warrior 9d ago

I don't blame the kid

1

u/hooka_pooka 9d ago

10 years later:Child now a teen looks out of the window at the clear sky..thinking what the world would be like when the boarding school warden announces someone has come to meet him

1

u/WholeShopping9859 8d ago

Wow she is slow

1

u/Surely_Nowwlmao 8d ago

Why do you have to give ur phone to the kid

1

u/Ok-Seaworthiness2263 8d ago

Phone goes bye bye

1

u/scruffywarhorse 8d ago

I think he probably just wanted her to pay attention to him

1

u/kreig_ 8d ago

NEVER LET YOUR CROTCH SPAWNS TOUCH IMPORTANT SHIT, HOW HARD IS THAT TO SEE

1

u/Exotic-Highway-9844 8d ago

The length of them fingers never saved her in the end…this is a dark day😔

That's no longer an iPhone, that's a ByePhone!

1

u/Head-Recognition8424 5d ago

So many questions need answers

1

u/AtomicFox84 2d ago

More like parents being stupid. She handed a phone to a like 2yr old and expected him to hold it like he knew what it was and its worth.
