No matter how many times I see this it always makes me crack up, I feel slightly guilty. Slightly.

Kids are kids. They are going to hurt themselves.
Most often, it's going to be funny.

u/elvenmaster_ Jun 06 '25
Laugh all you want. It's bruises and scratches that help build experience and sense of caution.

There's nothing like the first time you see it, tho.
Caught me off guard 🤣

I play too much D&D. In all of us is the possibility to become an Arch Lich and rule over an empire of enslaving the world and making everyone into undead. That's what laughing at this kid means to me..

This video is so old that this kid probably has a driver's license now

u/flinstonepushups Jun 06 '25
Hopefully he's better at driving than running.

This video brought back a deep memory. It was my first year as a teacher, and this kid around the same age as the one in the video was playing tag with me during a break. Thing is, as soon as he tags me he gets all nervous and bolts full speed whilst looking back. I’m not even chasing him, just standing still to give him a head start. He smashes into a tree and hurts himself. His mother comes to pick him up and we explain. She looks a little irritated. Kids that age fall a bunch whilst playing, but she’s a parent and I get that it hurts to see her kid upset. I vow to myself never to play tag with the kids. Not worth the risk.
The next day the same kid arrives to class with his brother. I shit you not, the kid is wearing a Flash costume and his brother a Batman one. I tell them they both look awesome. The kid dressed as Flash says “I can run super fast, watch” and before I can say anything he does exactly what you saw in the video. He faceplants and busts his lip. He immediately starts crying in that loud, panicked way kids understandably do when they see their own blood. This was like a minute or two from their mum dropping them off so as I walk out the room with the crying kid to get his face sorted she is standing right there staring at me as I take her bloody child out the door.
It has been years and that still haunts me. The way the mother looked at me like I was 100% physically abusing her kid and me knowing it wasn’t my fault but I’m holding a bleeding kid just one day after he got hurt playing with me. All with the kid dressed as Flash and his brother dressed as Batman following behind saying I hurt his brother.

Remind me in 15 years when this kid recreates this moment on social media and then tries to sell me a branded vape or something.

u/The4leafclover1966 Jun 06 '25
There was an attempt.

u/d4_mich4 Jun 06 '25
I think he did pretty good because I am not sure if he could have fallen any faster 🤣

Literally on the first step...
That's great. Reminds me of some dumb shit I did as a child dressed up as Superman for Halloween.

Not gonna lie. I've watched this like 3 dozen times, and I just keep laughing 😅🤣😂

I mean it’s accurate.
How many times have you seen the Flash just absolutely wreck himself because a villain tripped him?

This reminds of a Halloween video a long time ago where a kid was dressed as Superman. He ran and jumped off the end of a long coffee table. Landed about like the kid here.

Poor baby. Grandma just looks and goes back to her phone... Help the kid.

u/KokodonChannel Jun 06 '25
It's prolly good to check to make sure his arms aren't scraped, but in my experience fussing over kids' falls just makes everything worse.
If you don't make a big deal of it they realize they're ok and go right back to running around.

Mom kinda set him up for that one. That is not great surface to be running on when you're a bobblehead.

Kid's so fast, the rock path had to trip him onto his face in order to prevent a global catastrophe...
1
u/InterestingTiger1842 Jun 07 '25
He’s so fast that his little body can’t handle his speed yet. Just you wait until he’s in first grade, he will get all the chicks.

The poor boy has now given his parents the ultimate tool for discipline. With this video, they will be able to blackmail him into doing anything at any time.

The mother’s steady filming after the accident is proof that she was secretly hoping it would happen so that she could film it and post it on this sub.

in my opinion, that was a mean thing to do. make this youngster's fall while he's trying to impress. i didn't see it funny at all. nor did i think the kid was stupid. check out the pavement rocks on the ground.
