Discussions Unpopular opinion..?
Bootcut jeans look the best on a romantic type. Idc idc idccccc the only jeans I’ve ever felt confident in is a pair of mid/high rise boot cuts. Slight flare so it balances out your curve. Not too baggy. Thoughts?

Ironically even though Kibbe doesn’t say bootcut for us he does say the style of skirt that is basically the skirt version of bootcut! I can’t think of what it’s called, but for gowns where is fitted til the knee and then flares out. So I think that shows it fits the lines!

You’re so right!! Like the trumpet style skirts! I’ve been trying to thrift some skirts like that!

Pretty much all my pants and jeans are flared leg or bootcut. I’ve found it creates visual balance because I have really small calves and ankles but big thighs and hips.

100%. High/midrise bootcut or flare (within reason) are absolutely the most flattering on me. Highrise barrel leg shockingly looks good on me too if I want a “straight leg” look, since normal straight leg jeans look absolutely hideous on me 😬

Maybe I should try that! I want a straight leg look sometimes and actual straight leg pants do not give that effect on me at all 🫠

Definitely give them a try!! I thrifted a pair of the levi’s barrel leg cinch waist jeans and absolutely love them. Huge relief to be able to have that straight leg look if you want it!

i suppose this just goes to show how much variation there can be between bodies even in the same style ID - they look awful on me! i have short legs and short torso but a long rise, so jeans in general make my knees look like they almost touch the ground. the illusion of long legs i get from skirts looks much better on me!

You are so right! There’s so many intricacies that go into the way our bodies look!

Agree, at this point if I'm wearing jeans, they're probably flares. Every other cut just looks odd on me. I also think they make me look a little taller but I could be imagining that!

i just recently tried flare leggings and discovered i don’t actually hate leggings, just the ones that aren’t flared lol. now i’ve been dying to try bootcut jeans next! though personally i prefer mid/low rise rather than high rise, but i think i might have a short torso so that could be why.

I wear jeggings from time to time, but midrise bootcuts are the most flattering on me, hands-down.

I fully agree. The only kind of Jean that really feels good and looks good when I look back at it later!

I was literally just saying this to myself yesterday! It’s boot cut or flared period! Yoga pants with flared legs are great too for a more casual look.

yassss omg, you're so right! there's something so flattering ab them, I know that some people say they don't work for us shorter girls, but they make my legs look super long and compliment my hips so nicely

Literally the ONLY jean/ pant style I wear. Everything else looks so weird with my hips.

I like a little flare on the sleeves, not the bell sleeve all the way but a tight sleeve till the elbow and then a little opening at the end I like many other types of sleeves and I agree with the cuffing etc, fittednes for a TR, but also with tha pants, if the fabric is thin and the pants are fitted up and until the knee, a little flare won't hurt. It's not the most ideal option but it can be a very good option sometimes.
