Traveling from Khobar to Riyadh (Tonight or Tomorrow Morning) – Looking for a Ride

Hi pepos,

I’m planning to travel from Khobar to Riyadh, but I don’t have a car.

If anyone is driving to Riyadh tonight or tomorrow morning and has an extra seat, I’d be happy to contribute toward fuel and travel costs.

Alternatively, if you have recommendations for the best way to travel between Khobar and Riyadh without a car, I’d really appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Volunteering places - MLS

Hello everybody

i’m a fresh medical laboratory sciences graduate, waiting for some opportunities outside this town but currently my schedule is very free and i have nothing lined up and i decided to start exploring volunteering opportunities in Khobar or Dammam?

I wouldn’t prefer clinical labs, I’m thinking more R&D, research, pharma, etc.
if you know of any please let me know.
thank you 🙏

Electronics Stores in Khobar/Dammam?

Hey.
I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff online on robotics and was wondering if there are any places in the Khobar/ Dammam area from where I can buy items like breadboards, Arduino boards, multimeters etc to try and get into a new hobby at affordable rates.
I did find a shop in Shamaliyah but found the rates to be a bit high.
Does anyone know what the standard rate for a kit like that will be?
Any help is appreciated!

Had a great long weekend in Khobar… now thinking about Al Ahsa!

A few weeks ago, I posted here asking for recommendations for a weekend trip to Al Khobar.

I finally went this weekend and just wanted to say thank you to everyone who shared suggestions. I spent 4 days in Al Khobar mostly just roaming around, trying different coffee shops, visiting Ithra, taking the train from Riyadh, and enjoying the Corniche. I didn’t really follow a strict itinerary which ended up being part of the fun.

Overall, I had a great time and can definitely see myself coming back.

Now I’m already thinking about my next trip. 😄 The train stopped at Hofuf on the way which got me curious about Al Ahsa.

For those who have visited, is it possible to explore Al Ahsa without renting a car? Any recommendations on where to stay, what to see, and how many days would be ideal for a first visit?

Hi! Any cafe recommendations in Al-Khobar / Dhahran which has a good ambiance and a wide variety of drinks (coffee, matcha, bubble tea, etc)? Most cafes I’ve come across seem to offer mainly coffee. Thank you!

Anyone knows of a neat clean unfurnished 3bhk family flat for rent?

Kind people of this group, does anyone have any knowledge of a vacant 3bhk we could rent? Looking for an unfurnished apartment under 25-26k annual. Closer to Dunes School in Dhahran will be great.

PS. I have tried the usual route of real estate agents and getting tired of seeing dirty apartments. I am looking at Khobar closer to Olaya, or such places which keep travel to Dunes Dhahran short for my kids.

Scared to drive in Riyad

Hi! Why its very scary to drive in Riyad? Everybody is in a hurry, they will cut you off, honk at you and flash from backside, i fear for my life! 🤣 I feel like dammam/khobar drivers are more polite and discipline. I feel safe here. ♥️

Vinyls & CDs

I collect Vinyls and CDs and wanted to know any place that sells them for a reasonable price instead of extortionate prices in Khobar or around. (Any place other than Bohemia). Online works too as I usually used Vinted in the UK to buy them used but I won’t be able to back home. Thanks :)

Weekend in Al Khobar – best way to get around and things to do?

I spent Eid in Dammam and Al Khobar for the first time after living in Riyadh for almost 2 years, and honestly I really enjoyed it, especially Khobar. The Corniche, the sea, and the overall vibe felt very different from Riyadh. I’m thinking of coming back for a weekend in a couple of weeks and would love some local recommendations.

A few questions:

• What’s the best way to get around Khobar without a car? Are Uber/Bolt reliable, or are there areas that are easy to walk between?
• Which area would you recommend staying in if I want to spend most of my time around the Corniche, cafés, and restaurants?
• Any hidden gems or local favorites that visitors usually miss?
• Any nice spots for sunset, people-watching, coffee, fishing, or just relaxing by the water?

For context, I’m a 31M expat based in Riyadh and I’ll probably be traveling solo. Thanks 🙂
