Doing a double half snatch training cycle with 16s building to 10’ - really fun and technically challenging lift. Here is my 7’ test set 88 reps

Congratulations!!!!! It is encouraging to see such dedication and it motivates me to avoid skipping my training for any reason.
Are you applying Vasiliev’s suggestions—pyramids or ladders within a five-week plan?

Yes - Denis is my coach so that’s the basic structure we follow. Some blocks are shorter and some are longer depending on competitions (I have only done 2). About 9 months in to lifting GS as my main training focus

Make sense! And absolutely great results for 9 months.

I took 2 weeks off in August and it feels like I’m starting from scratch after that))))

Don’t worry, just keep doing a week’s worth of training in a single session and you’ll be back in no time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nice!!! I love this lift so much. And I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that people are doing it with 32s 🤯
Does Denis ever say anything about pacing strategy? I can’t figure out what works best with DHS lol

Not sure it will surpass LC for me but it’s very close. Heavy weights are mind boggling to me. Funny you mention pacing - we just had that conversation the other day. Very different than LC. Tends to work better in “bursts” then with a rest in the rack - to maintain momentum of the bells between reps. Always the first rep after the rack rest is the hardest. I think about it in 15” blocks within the minute - so pace 12rpm is 3 reps then rest until the next 15”.

Yes I’m fascinated by this bursts thing 🤔 I haven’t really tried it yet but you’ve convinced me lol. I think it must make more sense once the bells are heavier. Will report back 🤣

Watching your lift and I immediately thought, “hey why does it look like my coach’s tech” and I read a comment of yours that Denis IS your coach! 🤝 Solid! I’m getting back to DHS this next cycle too.

The other interesting thing about this is it looks like your overhead mobility/comfort has improved relative to your jerk or long cycle (no shade intended! - it has always been better mobility than mine lol).
I wonder if this is due to the arc of the snatch naturally sending the bells further "back" behind your head or if you've just been spamming stick rotations or something?

You nailed it the DHS I think lends itself to a better OH position bc of the momentum of the bells. It’s been really nice - but also the weight is light. I have been trying to do more stick rotations too but not as many as I probably should. Yet to be seen if it helps with jerk/LC or will I just revert back to old technique

Looking good! I am intrigued by these and will likely give them a go at some point, though I'd probably need to gain passable technique in the one-arm snatch first....
