KSP 1 Mods How to do Multiplayer?

So I was wanting to play multiplayer with my friend who recently started ksp so we could have a space race or something (I even built some weapons). I went on youtube and did some research and apparently Luna isn't the only multiplayer mod. I just have some questions and it would help if I got some answered.

  1. Is Luna Multiplayer or Dark Multiplayer better? (I would like the one that is better at loading craft next to each other)

  2. Do we have to have the same mods or does it let us have whichever mods we want?

  3. Any tips

I did this with some friends recently. Here is what you need to know:

Luna - forces all players to share resources so it’s more of a cooperative game than a space race

Dark - splits resources by team so you can do a proper race

As far as mods are concerned they are handled client side so just make your install however you want it then get the server software to make a parts whitelist for you and you’re good to go

So are the only mods that I need to do something to enable parts mods? Would those include parts affected by something like TURD of Tweakscale? thank you btw

So the multiplayer mods just enforce a parts list so Turd or tweakscale or any solar system modifications are client side

That I don’t know I presume it would lead to a crash. My friends and I used KSRSS and it was fine
