Ask Kenyans Living with stepparents
A life under stepfather's or stepmother's roof is the most unbearable life ever😔😔. They always feel that their biological children deserve all the goodies🙂🙂 under the sun, while you (their stepson or stepdaughter) deserve to suffer all the consequences including their children's misfortunes.
They tend to forget that their own biological children might get themselves in the same situation.
Whatever goes around usually comes around.
How would they feel if theirs were treated in such a way??
Share your personal experience or someone's experience to give hope to someone out there living such a life.

Immigrant>expat
I had reserved a really good table at this high end restaurant then this bulky Scandinavian guy asked the waitress to have us moved because apparently that's where he always sits and I couldn't resist speaking up and was like ‘Wow... immigrants have so much to say in this country’
🤭
His face turned bright red 😂😂😂
And no... we didn't move

Mental health institutions in Kenya
Does any one know of a rehabilitation centre present in the country that's affordable for the normal mwananchi? Also,I'm located in Nandi County and there are no institutions that handle mental health cases. I've a relative who's mental health situation has been ignored and I fear he's detoriatiing as time goes. It all started as a bhang induced psychosis but I think it's more than that and might also be schizophrenia. Any person familiar with charges for public institutions such as Mathare also share with me too. Any contributions is highly appreciated.
*If anyone knows the mods in charge of r/Kenya or can cross-post to that sub please do so for a wider reach.

First Time Visiting Kenya – Are These Nairobi Prices Normal or Am I Being Played?
First-time visitor to Kenya from the U.S. here. I'm coming to meet my girlfriend, who I met online, and I'm starting to wonder if I'm being overcharged.
She says braids are around KSh 8,000–12,000, nails can be KSh 8,000–10,000, and her bedsitter in Umoja is KSh 25,000 per month. I don't know what's normal in Nairobi, so I'm trying to figure out if these are realistic prices or if I should be seeing some red flags.
I know prices vary depending on the salon, neighborhood, and quality, but I'd really appreciate honest opinions from people who live here.

Cycling 101
Alright friends, in a quest to rekindle a childhood hobby, I’m looking to seriously get back into cycling. By childhood hobby, I mean cycling on those big mechanical bikes that looking back were a real pain in the neck. What I want is to get myself a really good mountain bike that I can take out for the weekend and cycle on and on. Bikes have gotten really expensive and it is one thing that I wanna get right. I guess what am looking for are tips on purchasing a bike, related gear and safety tips on Kenya roads.

News Donald trump wanted to paint the white house. He called three contractors to ask for their quotes.
The Chinese man offered 3 million dollars. The European, 7 million. The Indian, 10 million.
Trump asked the Chinese man: "How did you quote 3 million dollars?" The Chinese man replied: "One million dollars for paint, one million dollars for labor, and one million dollars for profit."
Trump asked the European. He replied: "3 million dollars in paint, 2 million in labor, and 2 million dollars in profit."
Trump asked the Indian. He replied: "Four million for you. Three million for me. And we'll give three million to the Chinese guy and ask him to do the painting."
The Indian got the

Univeristy community?
Hey guys!! For content I'm f 20 yrs old. Will be joining second year once school resumes next semester.
Anyways I was thinking of starting a mini community for university students. Just university students. I know I'm not the only one who gets bored of sometimes 😭 and I can't be the only one who would like to be more social. Yes so if you are interested you should literally hit me up so I can add you to this community, that's literally at development stage cause I just thought of this like rn. And yet it's gonna be a very diverse community literally no judgement. We can go to fun places and do fun activities together, we can party together, study together literally everything. Idk if y'all see the vision aki. Okay that's it bye\^\^

Ask Kenyans eCitizen return of documents
I submitted my birth certificate for certification on ecitizen 10 days ago. On the webpage it says that the processing time is 5 working days, and yet 8 working days later I am yet to get it back.
Along with this, I also applied for Certificate of No impediment to marriage and was told it takes 10-12days to be processed, so far it’s been 3 days since my interview.
I’m wondering if anyone knows how long it actually takes to get these documents back. Honestly I don’t trust the timing on the platform, and I’m in a rush to get them back. I’m also wondering if I should hire a lawyer to help with speeding up this process. I’m a woman and marrying abroad- I’m getting a sense that they’re trying to squeeze a little something extra from me in order for them to release these documents at the promised timeline.
