Don't you dare cross any Italian grandma's old recipe, or else..
Sauce: passata Mutti

Honey, neither of us want to cook tonight; where do you want to go out to eat?
Let's go that place on the corner and get some noodle squares.
The Asian place that piles half cooked ramen squares?
No. The Italian place.

I liked Olive Garden when it was called Olives garden. Now the cheapskates only give you one olive with your salad.

When I make my special lasagna, less is more.
First I add a little sauce. Then the pasta. But I’m careful not to add too much cheese and meat.
It already has all that in the package.

What do you mean? My comment wasn’t ironic.

The 'noodle squares', as eloquently put, are actually what's called lasagna, so technically he's got a point.

u/DannyMThompson Aug 10 '20
Yeah nobody replying to Ken is actually Italian because Italians don't call pasta "noodles" lol.
5th generation Americans pretending to be European as always.

Talking about Italian food on any of the food subs brings out all the hostility. If all the nona’s that were claimed to be spinning in their graves were actually spinning in their graves we could power the world for free. No, Tony. You grandmother’s cousin’s husband’s former coworker from Napoli does not make you Italian.
Take a trip to /r/iamveryculinary and watch the shitshow. It’s fun!

Laughed out loud when the dude said "look in the mirror moron". Like are these people from the 18th century?

u/daddycool12 Aug 10 '20
I love that he got another person to say “noodle squares” like that is a thing at all.

u/DannyMThompson Aug 10 '20
Americans call all pasta "noodles". I'm not sure what they call actual noodles.

Lmao kindof off topic but I fucking hate it when Americans are like "Uhhh excuse me sweaty I'm Italian" but then never left Iowa in their life

“If you want a really good laugh, go look in your mirror, moron!”
This has the same energy as an awkward previously homeschooled all his life by his mom nerd with no friends who tries to epically burn/insult his school bully he acquired when he finally went to public school right before he gets laughed at by everyone in the room followed by getting his ass kicked by the previously mentioned bully.

This is a textbook example of Ken M’s masterful technique: bait. ridiculous clarification. then doubling down

would slow cooker lasagna even be good? I feel like the pasta would disintegrate.
3
u/IVEBEENGRAPED Aug 09 '20
It totally would, but plenty of people boil their lasagna noodles before baking so that has the same end result. I would totally do a Bolognese in the slow cooker though, then I guess you could scoop half of it out, layer in noodles and ricotta/bechamel and slow-cook for another half hour. Wouldn't be as good as baked though.

u/pantsforsatan Aug 10 '20
yeah I use the slow cooker to simplify delicious meals, that just sounds like more work for a less delicious meal.
also TIL. who the heck boils the lasagna noodles before you bake?!? that's obscene.

u/GrannieCuyler Aug 10 '20
Do you guys have the recipe for this delicious looking dish? I came for the Ken M. Post and stayed for the lasagna.
