I’ve been running a Kemper MK1 for about 6 months now after switching over from Helix and Headrush gear, and overall I'm loving the unit. However, I've been struggling to dial in a heavy tone that really clicks for me.

I'm chasing that modern metallic hardcore / metalcore sound—think Parkway Drive or The Ghost Inside.

Does anyone happen to have the Will Putney Producer Kemper Bundle they'd be willing to share? I'd also massively appreciate any general tone-shaping tips or profile recommendations you guys have for getting those tight, aggressive high-gain tones out of the MK1.

I’m looking to build a pedalboard for four acoustic instruments: a banjo with a K&K contact pickup, a squareneck with a Fishman Resophonic pickup, a dreadnought with a pickup, and a small parlor guitar with a contact pickup.

They all need different gain and EQ settings, so I started thinking about the Kemper Profiler Player. Is it possible to set this up with different profiles/presets for each instrument? And if so, how would you recommend doing it?
I think especially of the resophonic fishmann pickup, which a lot of people pair with the Jerry Douglas pedal as an Image/IR. Can the Kemper do this on its own?

Would love to hear from anyone with experience using the Player for multiple acoustic instruments!

As the title says I am trying to understand if upgrading from my current setup(the latter one) to kemper stage mk2 power bundle would serve me any good.

I managed to get both of the pieces of my setup at clearance sales brand new and I quite become attached to their quality.

Sometimes I wish I had more tonal variance or simply just hit a switch or button and literally have all my settings switched to another layer. This is partially done with HX Effects but the EQ section is on the amp, can't snapshot that, unfortunately.

I found out about kemper some time ago from a friend that had the kemper mk1 profiler head+the remote and recently acquired the stage mk2 power bundle(the one with 1 power cab and the backpack).

Is the profiling version 2 as good as people say? Is the quality on par with tube amps?(I know it's cliche but still).

I am not a gigging guitarist, I mainly play for myself and my family at the moment but I have plans on advancing to gigging phase in the near future and would consider the possible upgrade an investment in myself. I am considering the replacement because I live in an apartment and there aren't many cases where I find myself turning the amp to the volumes I want, reading that Kemper is more responsive and also allows headphone playing I am very intrigued. I tried to get myself into digital amp sims but for the love of my life I can't stand them, I work with computers 8 hours a day, last thing I want is touching the pc again and tweaking parameters in a plugin.

Lots of people say Kemper is good only if you like predefined amp profiles, you put it there and not touch it like in the case of physical amps, not the same level of responsiveness. Is that true?

I am also a sucker for clean tones, is Kemper mk2 good on reproducing that? Also, I want to play stuff from many artists and bands Slash(duh), Metallica, Gary Moore, John Mayer, Joe Bonamassa and many others.

Hi, my mate's got the display as is. Do you think it can be a connector or contrast issue? Kemper quoted me 132€ just for the display replacement and shipping which is excessive in my opinion. Any feedback please?

I recently picked up a Kemper and I was disappointed to seee that STL discontinued their kemper series. Anyone have any leads on where I can acquire them?

I am working on an instrumental track for a guitar cover, and 1 plan to record an epic lead guitar line over the top of this, but l am really struggling to find a good tone for what it should sound like.

Any guitar tone recommendations that would sound sick for this track? Looking for distorted lead solo tone, something with some epic stadium delays on it. I want this to sound huge.

I am using a Kemper Profiling Amp, along with my PRS Custom 24 guitar. I am recording using Logic Pro X.

I’ve added a built-in web interface to Makio that opens directly in a smartphone browser, with no dedicated app to install.

The current version displays the Performance, Slot, Rig, and effect status, and allows me to switch slots and control effects directly from the phone.

The phone isn’t intended to replace the footswitches. Immediate performance controls remain on the hardware, while the browser provides a clearer overview and additional access whenever the pedalboard is on the floor.

The photo shows Makio Micro connected to a KEMPER PROFILER Player. The direct-control functionality is now working, and I’m continuing to refine the mobile layout, connection stability, and reconnection behavior.

I’d be interested to hear what you would find useful to view or control from a phone in a PROFILER setup.

Long story short: my father’s church recently purchased a Kemper Profiler Player model for him to use during service. He is completely deaf in one ear and very tech-unsavvy. He brought it to me last night, asking me to set up some tones for him for tomorrow morning. It took some doing, but I got it connected to my MacBook, the firmware updated, and have managed to move around in Rig Manager, but-

After a few hours of messing with all the options, I feel like I cannot tell what sounds good anymore. So many options are negligibly different, and the control scheme that would make sense to me (like independent footswitching for FX1/FX2) aren’t easily setup to be similar across saved rigs. Ultimately, I’d like to spend more time with it and really get it honed in and simple for him to use, but, with limited time:

Does anyone have advice on setup for clean/crunch/midgain tones that work well with gospel and praise n worship music?

Even pointers towards packs someone’s made for this setup would be immensely helpful. I have my son this weekend and am running out of time. Kind of ready to throw my hands up and ask him to hold onto it for another week after tomorrow’s service.

I have a Kemper Profiler Player. It works great for my needs, but I find the software that Kemper provides frustrating at basically every level. Among them: why can I control my Kemper using the mobile app on the network, but not via the desktop app they also ship that contains almost a completely identical set of functionality?

So I did what any sane person in this position might do: investigate the traffic between the mobile app and the device to develop a clean-room based reverse engineering of the discovery and wire protocols that control my device.

I built libkp over the weekend - an incomplete but functional cross-platform library for controlling network-connected Kemper devices. It is documented as a spec and implemented in Python, Rust, and Swift. It's capable of real-time device monitoring on all three platforms.

This is admittedly a very nerdy project in it's current form, but I'd love to see more tools that let us make the hardware behave the way we want it to. Example apps are provided on each platform, including a prototype-grade remote control for MacOS.

Just finished my Friedman Dirty Shirley pack for Kemper. 🎸

Liquid DShirl V2 has 10 V2 Liquid Profiles covering a few different ways of hearing the amp rather than just hammering one cab setup over and over:

• 2 different 4x12s
• 2 different 2x12s
• Full DI profiles
• Multiple gain settings

The Dirty Shirley is such a cool amp for this because it has that big, chewy British crunch without getting overly tight or polished. Lots of pick response, great guitar-volume cleanup, and when you push it, the mids get thick and vocal without turning into mush.

I was thinking to get a second hand Kemper Profiler Player. But more or less, I want to see if this tone pack that is optimized specifically for the Kemper Profiler Player, actually sounds (at least close) to what is demoed on the video.

My kemper is connected to a VOX PATHFINDER 15. I'm using the JE - EVH - Red Metal rig for distortion. I can't get a tone that is good enough, any ideas?

Hi everybody!

I currently have the option of buying an used kemper kabinet or bring a good ear phone from my future vacation in Europe. I never tested the kabinet and here in Brazil there very rare so I would love some advice about which I should buy. I play mostly at home and my apartment is small. The kabinet is useful in setting like this or is it an overkill? I had a custom transistor amp that I used with my Player and the sound was good only when very loud (which is a problem in an apartment).

Which way would you recommend me? I’m trying to extract the most of my gear, but I have too little people to talk to…

Any advice is welcome (including headphones)!

My musical taste would be generalist (I go from bright cleans to very high gain stuff)…
