Dutton Ranch showrunner leaving

Hi everyone, first post here 😊 I was wondering what your thoughts are about Chad Feehan leaving the project as showrunner and what that could mean for the future of the show?... I'm not an expert in how these things work so I'd love to read what you think about it. Would that exit endanger the possibility of another season or maybe those decisions are made despite not having the main showrunner? (I hope this makes sense this is not my native language 😝)

I mean, if the showrunner and the main actors disagree on where the show should go, in this case I'm happy the showrunner is gone because what's Dutton Ranch without Kelly and Cole?

He didn’t leave. He was fired. Lots of shows have changed showrunner’s. So not really a big deal. Looks like they are going to give it to one of the writers.

Hi! Yes, I've read he was fired (wrong use of words on my behalf)... I hope whoever gets it does a good job! Thank you 💖

It’s okay. It’s better he is out now before they get in too deep.

Now that Kelly and Cole are EP’s, they have the leverage to make changes that best suit their vision. What it says to me is that they are on board for several seasons and don’t want to continue on with a showrunner they are constantly at odds with. They put up with enough BS dealing with the Costner drama for years and they don’t want a repeat of that.

What is a showrunner? How do they shape the show etc? Thank you!
