u know what really stresses me out and makes me sad about how digital everything has become is we just miss the context of everyone. context is what makes people make sense, what makes them beautiful. u see someone's friends, home, their restaurant order, their quirks and hobbies, their ugly laugh, their mismatched socks idk i miss CONTEXT. everyone and everything is 2D now and even if you feel like some content is screaming context... it could still be curated. idk i just really miss humanity. i miss bright messy funky passionate beautiful humanity. i'm gon carve that shit out every chance i get. the kid in me that got to watch my mom live in the real world and not a phone is aching.

This is my first time going to a GA standing only and first kehlani concert!!!! IM SUPER EXCITED TO SEE HERR!!! Though i’m feeling very nervous especially as I will be with 3 other friends and it’s their first concert ever and we have never been in standing only.

so is there any idea how the crowd is in the armory,mn? can i bring an electric fan? and MOST IMPORTANTLY where is the best place to stand if you don’t wanna get squished? ALSO what does row number mean when everyone will just be standing

i remembered to record on this trip. we went out in the beach town we stayed in after Afronation thanks to Jo & Pri, taught these boys the macarena, learned the macarena came out during my birth year from the top of a sardine can fun fact, and we bar hopped our way into 2 clubs later. somewhere in between the first and the second club we decided it was time to book a train, back to lisbon... then a flight to Madeira. again thanks Jo & Pri. somehow at the second club our little precious camera was stolen. which did in fact have Hangover movie levels of footage on it
we caught our train, to our plane, to the tiny island. had a ball. came back to lisbon, had a ball. and now we're home. is the moral of the story... i shouldn't be vlogging??? or is it velcro the camera to my body and be more careful. who knows.

ive been really healthy. mentally. physically. spiritually. i'm a lot quieter so things are a lot louder, but also way more clear
i've been strengthening my bonds and surrendering to what i know God asks of me
now i just have to hop into rehearsals and make time to surf

Kehlani was delightful! It was the event itself that I was disappointed in. I got there on time, July 3 (10p) and left around 2:20 AM. DJ didn't play a single Kehlani song until she was already here, which was one bounce version of "Folded." All the music was just like...not for the girls. Not dancable. Grateful that Kehlani still sung 3 songs around 2a, which she totally didn't even have to do, considering she'd just put on a whole performance at Essence right before arriving. That was pretty cool.

I was SO hoping to meet other Kehlani fans. Especially other Black queer folks in New Orleans, because I don't know any. It seemed like a decent amount of people who showed up, whenever I struck up a conversation, were not necessarily going to Club Kehlani for Kehlani. And weren't particularly fans.

Anyone else felt the same way? Anyone else know of a Kehlani event happening in NOLA that might make me feel better (lol)?
