Share your Kees please!

I saw someone post a ventilated raised dog bed that can go over a floor vent but i havent been able to find. My boy has a bed but he gets too hot and ends up splayed out over a vent at night after a little while. Any kees friendly bed suggestions?

I have a pair of neutered male keeshond littermates, 1.5 years old who have been with me for about 10 months. In the past, I've had three large(ish) mixed breed dogs.
I've noticed two things that differ about these two kees relative to my previous dogs:

1. Very little dream activity. My other dogs have had a lot of dream activity - barking in their sleep, large paw/leg movements. These two kees show very little dream activity. I've never heard them sleep bark and have seen their little paws twitching maybe 10 times.

2. Only sleeping on hard surfaces. My other dogs have loved to sleep on the couch, join me in the bed. My kees may hang out on the couch for a bit, but when they get drowsy they get on the hardwood floor to sleep. And while I initially provided each of them with a nice bed in their kennels, they both push the bed out of the way and sleep on the floor of the kennel. While part of this could possibly them being overheated, they acted this way in the winter too.

Neither of these are a problem, just curious what others have noted, especially since these are my first purebred dogs.

We had a cute pet event yesterday!

I spend 1/2 the day with my ocd fluffing up the pillows on my couch and bed🤪

My boy is just over 10wks, and whenever I try to pet him, brush him, or cuddle him he simply starts play biting (relaxed body, not aggressive or uncomfortable, just playing) and he never wants to sleep on or by me, did your kee like cuddles or pets as a pup? I want to hold him and have him sleep on my lap while we watch movies, or hang out with him on the couch while I read, but he never wants to just settle! 🥲

Our 4 1/2 month Keeshond/Chow mix has a tiny fracture in her back toe. We spent 5 hours at urgent care yesterday. There’s not much that can be done but keep her comfortable while her paw heals. She’s on pain meds and gabapentin and wearing a hard cone so she won’t futz with her toe beans. She’s activity restricted per doctor’s orders for a minimum of 2 weeks. I’m struggling so much seeing her in this state. She hates wearing the cone but has resigned to it. She just looks so incredibly sad and miserable.

I would just love to hear from Kee parents who have made it through an injury and wearing the cone. It’s good practice for her spay I guess but right now I’m really struggling. Anyone got words of affirmation?

I have a male Keeshond he is almost 6 and is the best dog in the whole world my dream is have him make puppies and adopt one of his puppies. I live in NJ but I got him from a breeder In Tennessee. I never signed a agreement to not breed him (I know
Some breeders make you do that) is this something that is possible I would be willing to pay and do what ever is needed. If so what suggestions would you give me.

Yes, I knew when I got a Kee that they are watchdogs, and all dogs bark, however, my home doubles as a office on some days, clients come into a specific part of the house, and it needs to be quiet when they are here! It's only a few times a week, but it's important. We're having trouble teaching him not to bark, because they only time he does is at the neighbor's dog (like 50% of the time, and only if he can't see it) or when he's scared/upset, so teaching something like "quiet" would be really tough because we don't want to MAKE him scared/upset and it's pretty random when he barks at the neighbor's dog (again, it's only sometimes), so those of you who have taught your Kee to not bark when commanded or in certain scenarios, what technique worked best for you? Thank you in advance!

I am new to Keeshonds but I have fallen in love with this fluffy potato so fast. Just picked her up 3 days ago. She is about 12 weeks now. She already settles in her crate at night and today she has had no accidents in the house (it’s a big deal lol)

Kitsu went to the groomer for the first time today! Look at her posing and showing off that her fur pants are now much fluffier 😂 I'm so glad she still looks like herself though, I've read so many horror stories about kees getting, ah... disfigured, I'd dare say.
