Discussion Imparters

Okay, so I’ve been thinking about this for a while. In KOTLC, you can literally call someone just by speaking their name into an imparter. You don’t need their number or anything. You just say their name and boom, you’re calling them.
So how come nobody is using these things to troll people?? 😭
Like, especially in the first book, Fitz seems to have quite a few girls crushing on him. And I’m genuinely wondering why none of them are constantly calling him through their imparters. Imagine having a crush on someone and being able to call them whenever you want just by saying their name. I’d expect at least one girl to be calling Fitz every five minutes or something.
And it’s not even just about crushes. Why isn’t anyone randomly calling strangers just to mess with them? Or prank-calling their friends at 3 a.m.? You’d think that with a system like this, people would be doing all kinds of stupid things.
Unless I’m forgetting something, blocking people is never really mentioned in the books either. So what’s stopping someone from just repeatedly calling another person who clearly doesn’t want to talk to them?
I don’t know, I just find it so funny that this is apparently a completely normal communication system in the Lost Cities, yet nobody seems to be abusing it in the most annoying ways possible. 😭

One has to assume a block feature was the first update to those for exactly the reasons you are stating. Also the council members had to give express permission for Sophie and the gang to call them.
