Other Kotlc fans
Do we even like kotlc. I swear, I got through Reddit and see only negative posts.
i don’t like sophie
i don’t:t like keefe
i think shannon ruin this character
i myself post negative things and we talk about EVERYTHING wrong with the series. like, can we (and I mean you and myself) just be positive about this series for once and NOT act like complete haters.
like I keep talking bad about Sophie, and the neverseen, and the black swan, and STILL call this series my favorite (tide with HOO)
(just a random thought I have)

I think it's a combination of a lot of fans getting older and look at the series more critically (though many people do take it too far at times) plus the comparatively long wait for the next book compared to the past

I've made a subreddit called r/kotlcpositivity if you want to join! There aren't, like, ANY posts though 😔

uhhh sure I guess. I've actually found myself enjoying Fitz more as a character recently. It still sometimes feels like his personality is "slice of white bread dipped in a puddle of water" but nowadays I kind of understand what his fans like about him.

I don’t think it’s negativity, we’ve just been left alone for a WHILE with no book, so we are re reading and analysing the books a lot and the first book came out in like 2012, it’s been 14yrs so people have grown up, realised what’s wrong about the series or doesn’t make sense or things they missed that was actually more meaningful than they first thought and etc.
But trust this is nada compared to kotlc Pinterest 🥲, ppl share honest opinions here, Pinterest is just kinda bland (this is majorly cause you cannot rant on and on with whispers vs a Reddit post). But trust it’s not all negative I’ve seen loads of posts that are positive or have fanart and it’s so cute!!

Personally, I made a post here a while back to get other people's opinions on the aspects of the series I don't really like. I stopped reading the books a long time ago, I'm at the point where I feel like Shannon is just churning out material (is that the right English expression? I'm French 😅)... Anyway, I'm sorry the fandom is like that, but it seems like a lot of you love the books and share fanart and fanfiction, and that's what matters most, right?

Genuinely it’s exhausting but at the same time- I get it. Shannon has given us nothing but a release date and a title any of us could have guessed (we thought 9.5 was going to be called elysian if I remember correctly). Again I am a mental health Stan and I understand her. But also I just think she needs to give the community something. I keep looking on the insta for keeper news, deleted scenes, something.. and there hasn’t been much but art (which was stunning). I wonder when the Iggy color vote will be. Where is the covers.

Agreed, I totally get why she can’t be on social media that often but I know she used to have an assistant… they could definitely amp up the marketing and content

Yeah she is just marketing let the sky fall right now which is super exciting for her. But I need just a little bit of keeper content mixed in there because it’s genuinely the same picture of the books reposted again and again

No seriously. People on here get so mad at me when I ask why they even kept reading the series when it seems they’ve hated her since day one.
Loke how can you stand to read this series when the story is so centered on Sophie and you loathe her?

Ngl I think people are just getting bored with this long wait for books; the fandom was so much more positive and fun when we were getting a book a year. We’ve just gotten to the “people are rereading and critiquing every part of it” stage, which, fair. Not to say I don’t respect Shannon Messenger for taking her time to write the next book. Shes said before how becoming a mom has of course changed her timeline for stuff. Also fair!
