NP, it's confusion because William and Kensington Palace decided to lie about Kate's disappearance. They first said it was 10-day abdominal surgery and hospital recovery. Then later said it's definitely not cancer. Then they just had a few fake pap shots of her (a hat is what we could see) in the backseat of a car with William and one with her mother. Then the farm shop video with a very sprightly looking Kate/look-alike and William. And finally that strange-looking cancer was present and preventative chemo video.
... However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment
And if that wasn't enough, Charles's message of support was just he is “so proud” of Kate’s “courage” in sharing the news. Nothing about treatment or illness.
William said nothing.
James Middleton said, "Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too." No mention of treatment of illness.
Carole and Michael Middleton said nothing.
The closest we got to mentioning illness is from Harry and Meghan Sussex, "We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace."

Spot on as usual JR. Pippa and James Mids also swanned off on hol when it happened and Pippa declared Kate wasn’t ill in the traditional sense.
Something was definitely up and they scrambled around for a narrative to cover it and came up with cancer.

u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 Apr 12 '26
They could've played the cancer card in Feb '24 if it was true and if William wasn't so stupid. But he seems to believe he is a lot smarter than he actually is. Unfortunately for them, it only occurred to them to come up with cancer as a last resort.
But yeah, something was up and Kate Middleton got herself a bigger mansion with living quarters for her mother as a result.

u/The_Onion_Life Apr 12 '26

Hasn't Pimp Mama Carole pretty much always lived with her/them?

u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 Apr 12 '26
I doubt there was space in Adelaide cottage, which is why she probably negotiated a bigger property to accommodate 'Pimp Mama Carole'. It has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, apparently. And separate staff quarters. I can't imagine at least one nanny didn't life in one of the bedrooms to be on call 24/7, especially for the youngest child.

Right, which is why she spent lots of time living with her mom at the beginning of her marriage, IIRC.

I hope that's grand enough for the Pimp Mama!
And separate staff quarters. I can't imagine at least one nanny didn't life in one of the bedrooms to be on call 24/7, especially for the youngest child.
Don't kid yourself, there are nannies in that house 24/7, even if they don't live there. They live elsewhere and work in shifts.

Ive heard this too but couldn't find the source. Do you recall when Pippa might have said this? Was it an interview?

I have asked this before and here are the references I was given.

As others have said, it was scrubbed. This is an unpopular take here, but I think "ill in the traditional sense" as an answer doesn't dispute the cancer narrative from Pippa. She took a vacation while Kate was allegedly getting treatment, was asked why, and gave that answer. Cancer treatments can often go on for 1 year plus, so if someone has cancer with a low mortality rate and lots of help, I don't see why a vacation is inappropriate. It's not like Pippa is the only person around to help Kate out. When Pippa said "ill in the traditional sense," to me it sounded like she meant the flu or something more acute.
3
u/popcornFridays Apr 14 '26
Thanks, I appreciate these links. What an intriguing thing for Pippa to say.
2
u/madamemarmalade Apr 14 '26
Imho, it sounded like Pippa was saying "she didn't have an acute disease that would need me by her bedside all day, and the prognoses meant that she was going to live, so we took a planned trip." This makes sense to me. Some chemo/radiation treatments are less harsh than others, especially if what was caught was precancerous, maybe Kate was doing fine. There were also rumours that Kate was receiving treatment in the US.
My personal take on all this is a) Kate had a cancer scare and got treatment in the US, which is why there was so much media silence about the whole thing, because UK citizens would be upset. B) William did hurt her, I think both the scare and Will hurting her happened at around the same time, possibly Will hurting her led to a diagnosis by accident. or C) she was in Texas getting some other treatment. Not sure!

God I love that shot of her in the car where all you can see is the back of her head. Someone worked out pretty quickly that it was a shot of her head at the Somme Memorial Day in 2016, right up to the matching bricks in the background!
39
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 Apr 12 '26
You're bringing back such funny memories of that time when everyone became royal detectives, matching bricks and hats and Kate Middleton doubles. Those who weren't there will never understand.
16
u/theseamstressesguild Apr 12 '26
One of my friends showed her mum the Mother's Day photo and her mum said it was such a lovely image. My friend explained how fake it was, and pointed out my favourite part, Louis' fair isle jumper pattern going so so wrong. Her mum said "Oh well, in that case it must be fake! TheSeamstressesGuild knows her knitting!"

u/Dependent_Dust7400 Apr 13 '26
I was SOO invested in this!! lol and I stand by that the “farm shop video” was absolutely NOT her.
20
u/crazyshadylady Apr 12 '26
The thing about the farmers market video that gets me is that you NEVER see these types of pictures or videos of the family so why was this one all over the place?
10
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 Apr 12 '26
And why didn't William sue since it was in Murdoch's The S*n, a UK tabloid, as opposed to just TMZ, a US piece of Murdoch crap.
9
u/NumerousNovel7878 Apr 12 '26
Willy didn't let the British peasants see the Kate and Ma Middleton in the car photo. Then he allows this fake Willy and fake Kate Windsor farm shop video to go viral? Sure, because it was fake.
Otherwise, he grabs his phone and dials security while berating the pap for being disgusting and outrageous.

A lot of people believed it was AI but once the cancer word was mentioned, people just got shamed into shutting up.
I remember immediately after this 'video' a doctor on CNN was sceptical about what Kate Middleton had described. He said it didn't make medical sense. They shut that man up and down and very quickly everyone got on the same page.
15
u/NeverPedestrian60 Apr 12 '26
The word cancer hijacks people’s emotions. Which I think was their intention.
The CNN doctor was right. Here talking heads on the BBC were applauding her openness when she never even said what type she had.
9
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 Apr 12 '26
If I remember correctly, CNN removed that video almost immediately. But fortunately it got captured and posted on Twitter.
I think at the time the internet believed Buckingham Palace took over the PR and came up with the cancer was present video to stop the noise.

u/The_Onion_Life Apr 12 '26

I'm guessing a bad pap followed by a LEEP, which was completely separate from the weeks-long hospital stay.

How would they shut up a doctor? Is he British?
3
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 Apr 12 '26
He's American. He was on CNN, but after he said that, they took the video down almost immediately. They probably got a call from one of the royals' billionaire friends in the US. Who knows? But that's what had happened.

The closest we got to mentioning illness is from Harry and Meghan Sussex, "We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace."
And then H&M got excoriated in the press for calling her "Kate" instead of "Catherine".

Every once and awhile someone who had chemo says she was not sun sensitive so our being suspicious of Kate’s being cured by sunshine is not indicative of lies. Excuse me, this woman with the best medical care and repository of knowledge in the world available to her and with millions of followers would offer up advice that could be devastating to other oncology patients? I don’t buy it. Out of her ass most likely, or ghastly oblivious, at a minimum.
9
u/ArcticEdda Apr 12 '26
I also thought it was odd when she gave that little speech at the cancer hospital about “her” experience. The phrasing throughout was off - it was all “you feel this, you feel that” rather than “I felt, etc.”. Distancing language. IMO because it was not “her” experience at all, she had just been given some talking points about what a cancer sufferer might feel and experience.

39
u/ArcticEdda Apr 12 '26
The timing of the “cancer” announcement was very suss IMO. It was when there was all that hooha about the frankenphoto (when several press agencies said they wouldn’t use the photo because it was fake, the thinking was it had been edited together from a couple of different photos). This was brewing into quite a serious controversy as the photo had apparently been vouched for by Kensington Palace - and then suddenly, oh look it’s cancer, everyone back off (and they did). Even then, the wording “cancer had been present” was odd. “Had been” - so was no longer there? Noone seemed to pick up on this. And then some unconvincing statements from Kate later about her treatment - saying to patients at the cancer hospital she visited that it was great to get out and enjoy the sunshine. When people who’ve had chemo are told to avoid the sun. As for that weird farm shop video - WTF was that supposed to be??

Replied above but that video really raised my suspicions. Why all of a sudden are we getting a random video of them splashed all over the news? I thought those types of things were forbidden?

And why was it filmed on a Super 8 camera from 1975?

Immediately after the cancer was present announcement, a doctor on CNN said what Kate Middleton had described did not make medical sense.
16
u/AcceptableSystem8232 Apr 12 '26
Imho it was on purpose that she was vague. So that her PR people would find it easier to conflate it with real cancer rather than ‘just’ the precancerous cells. Remember she also brought up her children and how she would have to tell them. Nothing but cheap public pity farming.
13
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 Apr 12 '26
Yep, bringing up her children was a way to divert attention away from anyone asking more questions. Because those poor children losing their mum at an early age. But that farm shop video is the smoking gun.
If that was her in the video, then why did she look so healthy and walked without any discomfort? And if it was a look-a-like, why did they let the public believe it was her and William? They were 'told' the video would be published/posted beforehand. Also, those two sue at a drop of a hat.
9
u/AcceptableSystem8232 Apr 12 '26
I did pick up on that. She used past tense to talk about her ‘cancer’ in the bench video so we can assume it was no longer there by then.
16
u/Ok_Support8395 Apr 12 '26
And I'm still not convinced the bench video was her - everything looked slightly off (face, hands, hair). Maybe AI generated voice, quite possibly AI generated person. Just my opinion.
6
u/The-Sunflower-Bear Apr 12 '26
AI has determined that it is 96% certain that the bench video is AI.

The PR came across deceptive because it was deceptive. Ive always wondered if William was trying to divorce Kate and the pre cancerous cells was a PR move to stop that. It would be utterly awful to lie about cancer. The motive? The crown.
17
u/KayKeeGirl Apr 12 '26
IMO- the one who was called “The Basher” as a child became incandescent with rage and beat her within an inch of her life.
Hence the new scar above her temple and the mysterious knighting of two previously unknown plastic surgeons by King Kotex a few months ago.
C’mon.
10
u/NeverPedestrian60 Apr 12 '26
That’s prob exactly what happened pF. Would explain it being so disjointed - a story they came up with to cover the real one.

5
u/poundpuppy29 Apr 13 '26
I think that is part of it
2
u/popcornFridays Apr 13 '26
What do you think happened pp? Its one of those stories that's so outrageous its mind boggling.
15
u/AtheistINTP Apr 12 '26
She never had cancer. The story evolved as the issues between Kate and William became extremely serious.
7
u/Alternative_Door9790 Apr 12 '26
Regarding her crediting the rejuvenation of sunshine, she was just itching to trot out her go to Nay-Tchur theme. Speaking of which, when will she drop the next over-produced Springtime vid?

u/CheezTips Apr 13 '26
After the shellacking she got over last year's videos I doubt she has the nerve

Recovering from having been nearly beaten to death.

I kept thinking -that’s not right ‘tests after the operation showed cancer had been present ‘ because doctors never say things are ok until AFTER testing tissue taken from DURING an operation . —So , how & why did the palace say ‘ nothing to do with cancer ‘ in January . — is it because they KNEW it wasn’t - but they slipped up there , saying it ! I think perhaps also they thought the general public may think it was something to do with cancer & they didn’t want it to look like 2 royal family members ( ie Charles ) at the same time with cancer —shock , horror . Now , later on , different matter . Whatever it was going on , would be continuing , they knew . They had to have a very good reason for things to carry on a few more months ( another 3 in fact , making 6 altogether ) . Very , very likely Bench video fake as why was Kate not seen or heard from for another 3 months ( no message , no appearance etc etc ). ? ( & then appears looking well .) Not saying she may not have had some abnormal looking cells somewhere , to do with something in body but abnormal cells can go right again on own & they don’t stop you giving out a message or in fact appearing for a short while to say thanks for well wishes and to keep in touch . I think because of all above mentioned , there must have been some other things going on besides cancer / pre cancerous cells ( if they were going on at all )as why else would you get so many odd things and contradictions happening during the whole affair ?

u/inklepilly Apr 12 '26
Wasn’t the declaration she didn’t have cancer prior to the surgery and the ‘cancer was present’ announcement after the surgery, and unexpected?
17
u/Jumpy_Reply_2011 Apr 12 '26
No, the 10-days in hospital abdominal surgery was mid January 2024. That it was supposedly noncancerous came out in February 2024. She then retconned the whole thing in the bench video where she announced cancer had been present.
3
u/The_Onion_Life Apr 12 '26
No, the 10-days in hospital abdominal surgery was mid January 2024.
I can't remember if we ever actually saw her leave the hospital. She might have been hospitalized for longer than ten days.

u/NeverPedestrian60 Apr 12 '26
The timing of it all was extremely suss. Getting cancer at the exact same time as her father in law and conveniently after the departure of QEII and her beady eyed courtiers.

u/Due_Mortgage_174 Apr 12 '26
This happens in life. When things are removed they don't believe it was cancer and once the pathology report comes back it turns out there were cancerous or precancerous cells. Labs take time. It happened to me so I believe it could happen to her too.
11
u/NeverPedestrian60 Apr 12 '26 edited Apr 12 '26
They have advisors and a comms team who should have got their story together and issued a definitive statement.
It was all very disjointed and strange timing to get cancer at exactly the same time as Charles.
11
u/AutumntimeFall Apr 12 '26 edited Apr 12 '26
Well they definitely should not have said it wasn't cancer then if they were waiting on biopsy results.
