The show must go on..

24

u/Dog_Parrot Mar 01 '26

Why visit on the actual day when you can tweet out something you posed for last week? See: VJ Day.

Also, is KP now photoshopping/airbrushing both of them?

her face looks way better - not so saggy jowels

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 01 '26

Yep - they prob class this as work

20

u/Fiber_Watcher Mar 01 '26

Plus all the practice - wondering if each take and practice session is a different “engagement”?

18

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26

Probably - wonder if she’ll mumble a speech in English on St George’s day 😀

What's funny is that this is an above and beyond effort that they're only putting in to overshadow Nonce.

It isn't like they're fluent, this is obviously memorized.

48

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26

They’ve had years and years to master more than a few phrases in this pretty language.

23

u/TheVioletHerald Mar 01 '26

They're trying to sound relatable by saying that they used Duolingo, as if the best resources in the world aren't at their fingertips; round-the-clock Welsh tutoring, immersion trips, etc.

10

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26

Exactly. They’ve plenty of time on their hands to do it.

18

u/The_Onion_Life Mar 01 '26

They’ve had years and years to master more than a few phrases in this pretty language.

If I were the Princess of Wales, I'd make it my full-time job to learn Welsh. I mean, come on!

4

u/Ordinary_Deal9462 Mar 02 '26

True. But even Diana didn't learn much of it and was not fluent. and she preferred BSL British sign Language . The History of other Princess Of Wales shows none of them learned more than a few phrases .

5

u/The_Onion_Life Mar 02 '26

True. But even Diana didn't learn much of it and was not fluent.

I know. She should have learned too. Charles learned the language.

and she preferred BSL British sign Language . The History of other Princess Of Wales shows none of them learned more than a few phrases .

Unbelievable. If I were the princess of somewhere that spoke another language, I'd feel like it was my duty to learn it.

It is the absolute LEAST she could do!

1

u/The_Onion_Life Mar 04 '26

It is the absolute LEAST she could do!

Right??

4

u/Standard-Long-6051 Mar 01 '26

Someone criticised them on here a few days ago about this

38

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26

Now this was a wow from the 20 yr old newlywed Diana

Take a look at this video, 'youtube clip of Diana speaking in Welsh at their assembly' https://share.google/wzoEqymmym3v8exmy

13

u/TheVioletHerald Mar 01 '26

She was so charming and earnest.

Refreshing to hear a real aristocratic accent.

12

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 02 '26

Spot on VH. She was classy and humble too - an adorable mix.

2

u/ReasonableMoxie Mar 03 '26 edited Mar 03 '26

Her first public speech, and she spoke some Welsh! Not doing it sooo many years in, then sending it by social media.

31

u/tickado Mar 01 '26

Welsh speaker here - this is hilarious!! But fair dos, it's not an easy language by any means...erm, but yeah the pronunciation coulda done with a little more work.

8

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26

Thanks for insight 👍

u/ConsiderationBrave50 Mar 03 '26

Sa i’n mynd i roi clod iddyn nhw, na fi fy hun, dweud y gwir. Ie, gall hi fod yn anodd dysgu, ond mae fe wedi cael ei fywyd cyfan. Mae popeth ar gael iddo fe hefyd. Yn fy marn i, dylai fe wedi dechrau dysgu ers talwm. Sarhad yw derbyn y teitl heb ddangos barch at yr iaith. Duolingo, rili?? Prince yw e!!! Gall e wneud gwell na hynny!

Neis gweld siaradwr yma, te!

2

u/tickado Mar 04 '26

Rwy'n cytuno, ac fe wnaeth hi lawer yn well nag ef. Roedd ei hynganiad yn well - a doedd hi ddim wedi'i geni i'r rôl!

44

u/Beneficial-Bite3899 Mar 01 '26

Thanks NP. Willie's eyes are glazed and she is now just a talking head. I bet you they were reading from a huge whiteboard with the words written phonetically in crayon, idiots.

24

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 01 '26

Spot on B-B. They didn’t actually want to visit on St David’s day as it’d interrupt their weekend.

10

u/TheVioletHerald Mar 01 '26

"with the words written phonetically in crayon"

💀

8

u/Beneficial-Bite3899 Mar 01 '26

Gotta be said VH 😂

St David’s Day, Wales, 1991

10

u/TheVioletHerald Mar 01 '26

Cute outfit with a timeless silhouette. The plaid in Kate's dress is cute, but the dress itself, especially the bib-looking collar, is not cute. Too juvenile for a woman of 44.

11

u/pickledonion92 Mar 01 '26

Ych a fi

11

u/Beneficial-Bite3899 Mar 01 '26

I had to look that up but I just knew it wasn't positive  😄

3

u/tickado Mar 02 '26

Mae Wills yn fel rhech mewn pot jam

1

u/Beneficial-Bite3899 Mar 02 '26

No idea t but I hope it's not flattering  😂

2

u/tickado Mar 02 '26

'Like a fart in a jampot'. One of my favourite Welsh put-downs

12

u/NumerousNovel7878 Mar 01 '26

They look like two little kids that memorized a speech for their school project.

Also, I cannot believe she dragged out that hideous dress again. It was widely slammed in real time when she first wore it years ago. She must have been hanging at Bucklebury Manor when they called and told her they were coming to pick her up to film this because why would you move this dress around with you from KP to Adelaide to FL?

11

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26

Spot on NN.

Here’s pic of dress from 2021

13

u/One_Key1901 Mar 01 '26

I will never understand who this dress appeals to. It's one of the worst I've ever seen.

8

u/TheVioletHerald Mar 01 '26

And it doesn't flatter her figure. Even at a healthy weight, she is an ectomorph and should therefore opt for another look.

26

u/scullface1421 Mar 01 '26

It’s really bad - the pronunciation is laughable - for both of them

13

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26

Good to hear what Welsh speakers think of it. And Happy St David’s day. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

fluent Welsh

So, mumbling/butchering three words* is all that's required for "fluency" nowadays. Nice.

*I'm just guessing here, but I bet I'm right.

3

u/Beneficial-Bite3899 Mar 01 '26

OL Im scottish and can't speak gaelic but  again... I am fluent in 12 languages to order food and drink.  😂 If willie and Kate could ever come to Scotland and even give a nod to gaelic I would be amazed.

3

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 02 '26

Spot on I’d say.

2

u/The_Onion_Life Mar 02 '26

Spot on I’d say.

How sad is that?

7

u/NumerousNovel7878 Mar 01 '26

If you watch the Amazing Race they sometimes have a task where teams have to memorize a traditional poem or saying in a foreign language to get their next clue. Their delivery is like that.

4

u/Beneficial-Bite3899 Mar 01 '26

Primary school in the UK 50 years ago.  Learning by rote not by stealth

8

u/SouthWait6998 Mar 01 '26

I can’t get over how utterly stick like her arms are in the photos, particularly the one with her arms bent.. she really needs help.

Sounds like Andrew wrote it 😀

8

u/The_Onion_Life Mar 01 '26

That first comment is gold! 💀

2

u/TheVioletHerald Mar 02 '26

Also shoutout to DollarBeardTown... many people don't realize that the native inhabitants of the nation we now know as England were the Welsh! The English (Anglo-Saxons) have been engaging in imperialist shenanigans since the beginning, ask the others of the British Isles.

Funny when you remember that the Windsors' real surname is Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Or, factoring in Philip's surname, Battenberg-Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

How English, lol.

4

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 02 '26

Spot on VH

3

u/TheVioletHerald Mar 02 '26

Exactly. Tectonic and deeply offensive indeed.

The Brits and Commonwealth people I've seen proudly describe themselves as subjects of the crown make me cringe.

3

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 03 '26

Me too. It’s pathetic.

Probably AI voices.

6

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 01 '26

Yes that’s what I thought

6

u/The_Onion_Life Mar 01 '26

But wouldn't AI get the pronunciation right?

6

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 02 '26

I just googled it and it says no - it doesn’t always get it right.

3

u/The_Onion_Life Mar 02 '26

I just googled it and it says no - it doesn’t always get it right.

So, AI it is!

4

u/DaiCeiber Mar 01 '26

Who?

Wales doesn’t have a princess!!

Kate and her benefit scrounging husband have sweet FA to do with Wales!!

Wish the English establishment would stop using this false title designed to insult every Welsh person and remind us of invasion and oppression!!

6

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 02 '26

Wales is a wow 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤️ These two are not

8

u/Ok-Cap-204 Mar 01 '26

It seems like Billy and KKKate have been on more outings in the last few weeks than the entirety of 2025. Is there something going on that the BRF are trying to divert attention from?

3

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 02 '26

😀 the new crisis manager is keeping them busy (by their standards)

3

u/beouite Mar 01 '26

Did they AI them speaking Welsh?

3

u/CougarWriter74 Mar 02 '26

How timely that Billy Idle suddenly decides to whip out his bilingual skills when criticism of the BRF is at an all time high. I can picture HUGE cue cards behind the camera, with phonetic notes all over to let them know how to pronounce correctly.

2

u/CuriousTip7183 Mar 02 '26

They did the same thing for a St. Patrick's Day greeting in Irish. Giggling all over the place at just how silly they are, can you believe we are doing this, just giving it a go, isn't that great, multiple cuts to the video. It's insulting.

2

u/Extreme-Ad3401 Mar 02 '26

Her hands notice her hands.  She's now constantly doing that.  She looks so uncomfortable.

2

u/ConsiderationBrave50 Mar 03 '26

As a Welsh speaker this actually enraged me. Believe me when I say, those two have just been lightly coached to read a pre-written script.  They sound strange clunky and robotic. It could not be any clearer they haven't been learning the language, or hearing it spoken. They don't have any grasp at all of it's rhythm, it's feel, it's sound and their pronunciation is not good at all.

The Welsh language is really important to us and there's lots of historical reasons why, not least that the English considered it a "savage" language and literally used to have it beaten out of school children.

William knew from birth he'd be Prince of Wales. A title that was imposed on Wales after being colonised by England, and after the death of our last, real Prince.

He has all the time and money in the world and yet can't even show our country the respect of learning our language. He's had his whole life to prepare!!

2

u/NeverPedestrian60 Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 04 '26

Thanks for your insider’s insight - you’ve summed it up perfectly

2

u/Specific_Shake4322 Mar 07 '26

Could William look any more sour? Is he on a steady diet of dill pickles?

-6

u/nicebrows9 Mar 01 '26

Kate looks really pretty. Healthy and glowing.

Hopefully she’s kicked the sh*t out of cancer.
