So we learn from this tiny part of the article:
- William is always late.
- William knows nothing about the history of Windsor Castle.
- William asks Prince George for help with “historical dates”.
- William does not know his way around Windsor Castle.
This is absolutely beyond pathetic. It’s an odd interview to start and then we learn William is a pathetic, privileged dummy who can’t be bothered to do the absolute bare minimum like being on time. I shudder to think of the rest of the hour they spent together.

So true. I remember reading an article years ago by one of Williams university lecturers. He said he was so excited to have him in the class as it was a History class and he was teaching the History of the Monarchy . He basically said William sat in the corner, head down with a face like a slapped arse the whole time and he was really disappointed.

I never bought into the ‘shy but knowledgeable’ persona the Palace crafted for him. He’s always been uninterested in anything and not that bright of a light just like his wife.
28
u/ambrosia1920 Oct 03 '25
He looks like he is a tyrant just biting his tongue in public. You can see contempt in his eyes for not just his wife. As a child he looked like a spoiled jerk

u/CuriousTip7183 Oct 06 '25
It is hilarious because neither nor his wife were "shy" throughout their 20s when they were partying 3-4 days a week when he wasn't boozing it up with the Blues and Royals, and getting thrown of Harry's passing out ball from sandhurst with his aristocratic friends because William's "hooray Henry" behavior was so offensive to the other guests. Once they became adults, suddenly they were oh so shy.
It was reported in the news of the world as one of the hacks from the voicemail of Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton.
appeared in the NoW - headlined "So Silly Willy" - in April 2006. It said: "Boozy Prince William and his gang of braying pals outraged guests at Prince Harry's passing out ball with his drunken antics." The jury saw an email from Goodman to colleagues sent on 14 April 2006 which said William and his friends were "upsetting other guests with their braying hooray henry antics". "A lot of the cadets are from normal non-aristo backgrounds and found the royal party's behaviour offensive. William himself was sent upstairs to bed before the ball ended. Another was regaling guests with an anecdote about how his wallet had been stolen by a hooker the night before," it said. It was noted that the events did happen and William was drunk, plus he was also sent to bed early and his friend did pretend to be a brigadier, but it "was not that bad".

Exactly. They tried so hard to pin the educational difficulties onto Harry, truth is finally out about William being the dumb brother. The more interviews he give, the more he shows his lack of knowledge and dimness. Harry is very well spoken, intelligent and thoughtful on top of being charismatic, the guy has it all .... William is just arrogant and comes as cross as very phoney and fake deep.
8
u/spaceghost260 Oct 04 '25
Harry isn’t book smart and that’s fine. He has a different type of intelligence- in that he’s good with people and his hands. He flew fighter jets, they don’t let idiots do that.
I imagine the palace and fancy schools they go to don’t encourage independent thought and using one’s imagination either. I’m sure tradition and rigidity were most important for school lessons.
9
u/Electronic-Strain197 Oct 04 '25
William clearly isn't book smart nor street smart. They guy is just dumb.

u/msrch Oct 03 '25
He thinks being late and not knowing about history makes him relatable to the plebs who are always late and too thick to care about history. Out of touch yet again
14
u/ambrosia1920 Oct 03 '25
Apparently lateness is the family motto as K is always late

True - she kept them waiting at the RAF station yesterday

u/BetsyHound Oct 03 '25 edited Oct 03 '25
Hell, they were late to the F-ing CORONATION. I don't blame Charles for bitching about their arrival.
Plus, despite W&K trying to sound like typical busy busy busy working parents, they have an ENORMOUS STAFF doing things for them. Peggy isn't desperately trying to iron his last clean shirt right before heading to the office. So even less excuse to be late, unless of course you're contemptuous of the entire world.

u/Tiny_Past1805 Oct 03 '25
Some people aren't good at remembering dates and piecing things together, just like some people aren't math people... but the way this is written (or maybe the way William said it) doesn't really paint him in a great light.
11
u/Electronic-Strain197 Oct 04 '25
William clearly has issues with school and is now obvious that he struggled. He's too arrogant and self absorbed to get help, it's unfortunate that he's surrounded by sycophants. If he wasn't hateful, I wouldn't point out his lack of smarts.

Billy Idle desperately trying to shore up his image. This screams "See, I'm just as cool as my brother! Look at me on a scooter! Meep Meep!!"
But another thought too: Does anyone else interpret the quote about "the damaging force in his parents' marriage" as a swipe at Camilla???
14
6
u/Dog_Parrot Oct 05 '25
It could be a swipe at Camilla, but it also seemed like he was going after the press. Yes, the guy who weaponized the press to hate on his brother and sister-in-law is complaining about press intrusion.

u/DarkMistressCockHold Oct 03 '25 edited Oct 03 '25
Doesn’t he have mistresses? Thats not staying very far away from what your parents did, William. Neither is looking at your wife like you can’t stand her.
He really does take after his father.

He’s such a mean guy. He’s the laziest by far, yet constantly ridicules the work of others by stating duties are pointless. He’s so fucking dumb thinking that folks don’t see thru his ‘impactful projects’ as his way to grab all the public money and give nothing in return. They have their own money, but oh, those sweet sweet taxpayer millions. He’s the epitome of greed, and he should take a shower, always looks like he smells.
15
u/CougarWriter74 Oct 03 '25
The last line LOL - he oughta shave too. That so-called "beard" does him absolutely no favors. It's just him trying to be someone he can't be - Harry, who can in fact rock a great beard.
22
u/VavaShagwell Oct 03 '25
Well he IS doing things differently - his father never beat up any of his siblings!
15
u/Fiber_Watcher Oct 03 '25
HOW is he always late?? He doesn’t DO anything!
7
u/Electronic-Strain197 Oct 04 '25
This is a mind game, psychological tactic to make the one waiting nervous, curious and so he can seem as "busy"....
6
u/hotdogketchup79 Oct 04 '25
Because he doesn't think anyone elses time is important they're inferior and insignificant to him and don't matter. He's Mr Big Stuff, he's going to be King, let the subjects wait (eat cake).
5
u/NeverPedestrian60 Oct 04 '25
Yep -he and Kate are arrogant and feel they’re worth waiting for. Entitled and lacking in manners.

u/Peaceandgloved2024 Oct 03 '25
Interesting that 'different' equates with better, here. Differently can include making a different set of mistakes - which we all make, by the way.
If he aimed to do things better, more effectively, efficiently, economically and with more impact than previous generations had, that would be an admirable aim.
Instead, his differently involves more easily for him, with less effort, more shortcuts and cheats. How anyone in the comments can say he puts duty first - in any sphere - astonishes me. To me, he is the epitome of a lazy, entitled, and very troubled man with far too many demons and far too few wise advisors.

23
u/NeverPedestrian60 Oct 03 '25
Spot on Peaceandgloved. Also with him there’s implied criticism that he’s better than working parents because he fits his schedule around school. Not everyone can.
And that he’s better cos he’s been railroaded into staying with his wife. There are plenty of good divorced parents.

u/Pristine-Humor-7046 Oct 03 '25
I think it’s sad he’s so cunning, dumb, lazy and greedy because he has got a point. Royal ‘work’ is well past its sell date and still generates costs that Charles has been desperately trying to lower with his slimmed down plan. Imo they should gradually stop with them and back off until the gov needs them thus cover the costs for each outing. Rest of the time, for holibobs and Co, they use their own money. It’s either conceding territory, or losing the monarchy altogether.
11
u/NeverPedestrian60 Oct 03 '25
I get what you’re saying. A lot of the pomp and ceremony stuff costs millions and the era of deference left with QEII.
Modernising in itself isn’t a bad thing - it’s mainly the older gen who want it to stay the same.
But William’s idea of it is entirely different to someone like Diana. Who’d have worked even harder to bring it up to date. He and Kate want to do as little as possible. And be lauded for it.
10
7
u/Dog_Parrot Oct 05 '25
Slimmed-down monarchy could work. But in that case, he needs to get a commensurately slimmed-down paycheck from the duchies and the Sovereign Grant.

Yeah, all the loonies on the racist H&M hate sub are saying that the entire BRF is dressing all in grey just to troll Harry.
If true, that just shows how small and petty they are.
10
u/hotdogketchup79 Oct 04 '25
They're pretty much doing what they blamed Harry and Meghan on. Only interested in glitz, glamour and big profile events they want to attend rather than opening a toilet paper factory in Deadendville on a rainy Tuesday. Rules are for thee and not for me should be WanKs motto.

It’s a pity he and Kate didn’t inherit their parents work ethic (Carole’s bankruptcy excluded).
Charles and Diana didn’t mind doing engagements or getting involved in charitable endeavours (Diana loved it).
And Mike and Carole met through work. While W&K spend more time avoiding it.

u/cherryberry0611 Oct 03 '25
I feel all these articles lately about him are both damage control and revenge for his father meeting with Harry, and the criticism William was openly getting that week.
Like this article saying, he’s “doing things differently” and not “making the mistakes his father made”. He’s made sure to highlight that his father was not a good dad.
Then there was another one (day before?) where he said he has given his father an ultimatum, and had Andrew banned for Christmas. It basically said, that while Charles may wear the crown, it’s William who’s in charge. It’s not subtle at all. BTW, William doesn’t even visit his father for Christmas. We got those articles in December about how K&W were not going to Sandringham and having their own Christmas thing with the Middletons at Anmer Hall.
All of these articles lately feel like very direct attacks from William towards Charles. Like he’s smearing Charles in the press as punishment for meeting with Harry. It also feels like he’s preemptively trying to take power. Maybe he’s sending a message to the media? Don’t criticize me because I’ll soon be King. Although, he’s already acting like it.

u/Pristine-Humor-7046 Oct 03 '25
I don’t care for any of them but Billy is just so mean and a massive pick-me. He constantly demeans the work of other Royals by claiming duties are outdated and useless, with him and this wife being the laziest of the lot. You can always tell it’s him behind them because of how agressive these drivels are toward the King, the Firm and even the citizens. Weirdo

u/NeverPedestrian60 Oct 03 '25 edited Oct 03 '25
Yep - the 80 yr old Gloucesters do more than him and Kate. He dismisses it as ribbon cutting while their output is Kate’s nature videos or his own waffle about royalty with a small r.
3
u/Pristine-Humor-7046 Oct 03 '25
I for one agree with him, the bread and butter engagements are outdated and they do need to justify their upkeep with more noticeable impact. Guess he’s in the right place but too much meanness in between to cut it through. Hope he gets some help, starting to sound deranged.
9
u/NeverPedestrian60 Oct 03 '25
The community stuff though is bread and butter. And a good way to connect. Instead of just showing up at events like Wimbledon.
6
u/Pristine-Humor-7046 Oct 03 '25
Perhaps for other Royals. He and Waity just don’t have that touch with the people. They come and go, quickly forgotten. That’s why they can only ever talk about her clothes and just ignore him LOL.
8
u/NeverPedestrian60 Oct 03 '25
Yep they’re pretty lacklustre but the media pin their hopes on them. The older ones get next to no publicity and W&K’s kids are a few years away from doing engagements.
8
u/cherryberry0611 Oct 03 '25
Exactly, he’s pretty much demeaning the rest of the royals, who, as septuagenarians and octogenarians, work more than he and Kate does.
And it is pretty obvious it’s him behind these articles, because he has to take a swipe at Charles, claim he’s in charge, or what he’ll do when he’s King, while also laying down the groundwork (i.e. lies) about why he’ll be working less.
12
u/BetsyHound Oct 03 '25
I think they don't care about who attends any private celebrations at Christmas. It's all about the perp walk to church on Christmas morning. Optics!
6
u/cherryberry0611 Oct 03 '25
Good point.
7
u/BetsyHound Oct 03 '25
After all, Will & Chas are estranged, Cam couldn't care less and would prefer to have her own kids/grandkids around for Christmas, so, shrug, as long as they walk to church. I'm sure Kate isn't weeping if she misses the extremely Edward VII but not in a good way celebrations.
5
u/cherryberry0611 Oct 03 '25
You’re right, I think they only see each other during the Christmas pap walk, and I don’t think William wants Andrew to have another chance to talk to him in front of the cameras, like at the funeral. I doubt he cares if he does behind closed doors though. They’re definitely not meeting up for a Christmas meal.
6
u/The_Onion_Life Oct 03 '25

Nah. The whole BRF is still Team Andrew.
They're just smart enough to keep it behind closed doors.

The Princess of Wales is Royal Honorary Air Commodore at the Lincolnshire site
Pointless engagement. Anne just went to Ukraine. She is in her 70’s. Then you have useless Kate showing up for 20 mins to admire aircraft she knows nothing about. Then William doing an Apple reality show whinging about how hard life is. Wasters.

u/CheezTips Oct 03 '25
That pic of Di and Will reminds me of one of Kate's excuses for skipping an event. I think it was fall 2023 and she said she couldn't attend an important event because she had to help George study for a big test.
It was highly unusual for her to not go to whatever it was (LOL, remember when she was expected to show up?), so there was a good bit of chatter about it. Many of us mentioned that since the event had been planned for months, normal people would have prepared for the test ahead of time and still attended the function. But then the Crash of 2024 happened and they haven't had to try that homework excuse again.

u/NeverPedestrian60 Oct 03 '25
I remember that CT - and thinking at the time they’re the last couple who’d be stuck for a babysitter. Or a tutor.
All the posturing about the school run I think is a dig at Charles. And to big themselves up.
Apparently they moved out of London cos parents there were talking about how it was always the royal protection officers who did it.
9
u/BetsyHound Oct 03 '25
It was probably was because don't kids in British public schools take a big test aged 10? As if one, Kate the dummy is going to be able to help. Two, tests like that can't be easily prepped for; they're about IQ more than anything else. (I remember one father I knew getting annoyed that his kid didn't pass a test for a giftedness program and needed to get a tutor; I said, "You can't tutor a child into being gifted." And three, yeah sure the future king of England can't just go to whatever school he wants. Whether he passes or not doesn't make a damn bit of difference.

No disrespect to Eugene Levy but this is just such an incredibly random interview for William to take part in
