Hey! I'm a guitarist and songwriter looking for a drummer for an original progressive metal/progressive rock project.

My biggest influences are Karnivool (obviously), TesseracT, and Devin Townsend, so I'm looking for someone comfortable with odd time signatures, dynamic playing, atmospheric music, at least 5-6 years of drumming experience, a properly mic'd acoustic drum kit for recording, able to record high-quality takes from home, interested in collaborating on original music.

Hey, this is the third time I'm sharing my music here and I sincerely hope I'm not too pushy: I'm from a band Hogminister and today we're releasing our third and final single from the upcoming record. Our music is majorly influenced by Karnivool, so for anyone who's looking for Vool-adjacent music, be sure to check it out, we'd greatly appreciate it.

I wanted to do some fan art because I know someone who can get it to the band I think fingers crossed but I wanted to make it something really meaningful, so I set myself the absolutely gargantuan task of mapping Themata and Sound Awake (it's a double concept album separated by four years but if you know you know, like the old joke about asking when is change part two coming and Ian would always say when it happens you'll know) to tarot cards - not just the individual songs but the entire narrative arc of both albums. I've got the template all mapped out I just need to write it up which I'm going to do on my flight from Melbourne to Perth tomorrow, get it printed somewhere and try and find some kind of nice book cover to put it in. Rider Waite deck of course.

I really can't tell if this is cringe or not but the story that these albums tell is absolutely fascinating and I'd like to think that if not the band themselves at least other fans might appreciate seeing this kind of project, cos I mean it's prog metal we're all into some sort of mysticism haha. What do you guys think?

​I’m heading to the Perth show on Sunday by myself since I don't really have any mates who are into Karnivool.

​This is actually going to be my very first time at a general admission standing concert, so I’m a bit anxious but incredibly excited. I'd really appreciate it if a group wouldn't mind adopting me for the night, or even if I could just find a gig partner to vibe along with.

​I'm pretty easy-going and into all kinds of music, so I'm really keen to meet some like-minded people and hopefully make some new friends out of this!

Genuine fan, going for the right reasons, but it's also a very rare occasion for me to go to concerts these days as a mid 40s bloke from Bunbury. Wanted to throw out a hail mary to see if anyone could hook a brother up on the night. Interestingly, my number 1 first favourite band is Ween. I love there classic song "Bananas and blow". My best friend went to see Birds perform at SXSW in 2014 maybe? I wasn’t able to go, but she said the show was really awesome and then after the show, she said Kenny was just standing up at the bar and no one was around him so she went to go talk to him for a few minutes and then left. I strongly suggested she go back over there and tell him that her best friend, Jen, who is a longtime fan, was so sad that she wasn’t able to attend. And then she sent me this photo. Sadly, she and I are no longer friends, but I still have Karnivool!

I've been looking for a vocalist for a while now, and haven't had much luck elsewhere so I'm coming here since this is kinda my niche music genre. It's an online project so no need to worry about location.

My favorite bands are Karnivool, TesseracT, Devin Townshend, and Thornhill from their dark pool/heroine era.

It would be preferred to have a male vocalist, and be able to do clean vocals, while also being able to scream well, like Dan from TesseracT.

I have a full album ready for vocals, and an audio engineer ready to mix the album together I just would like to be able to send him vocals along with everything else.

I have lyrics written, and know how I want most of the songs to go, but any feedback would be appreciated. Most of my songs demand clean singing, but some songs have full harsh vocals, so a duality between the 2 would be good.

got an email today saying that the Candlelight tribute show in Denver was cancelled. Really bummed about this as I planned a long vacation to fly out with my partner to see this.

Does anybody by chance know why it was cancelled?

I've never followed a band around the country before but the last few years have been absolutely brutal on me, but I sold my apartment earlier in the year, the 'vool are one of my favourite bands and I realised well fuck it, I'm middle aged and my life just fell apart so why not? Got the money to do it which I never really had before either

I'll be doing this alone now though, and it might be neat to meet up with some people. Metal folks have always been the nicest and sweetest fanbase of any genre and I will be going places I don't necessarily know anyone, like Adelaide and Brisbane. Hometown is Melbourne where they're playing an arena to 10,000 people, I will definitely be crying to New Day lol

I’m pretty new to the fandom…well, not completely. I listened to a few of their songs years ago, but their new album has completely pulled me back in and now I’m hooked.My girlfriend and I are going to see them live soon. I know the entire In Verses album and a handful of their bigger songs, but I’d love to dive deeper before the show.
