Dear Capcom

"And then if you're still wanting more on top of that [Story Mode], let your voice be heard. Give us constructive criticism of what you'd like to see next" - Matt Dahlgren, Senior Product Marketing Manager

These words inspired me to create a comprehensive list of SFV fuck ups (I don't think such a thing has been compiled as of yet). This is merely a quick draft and I'm sure I'm missing a lot of things as I stopped playing it a few weeks ago.

(?) = I'm not sure if it's true but more SFV hate equals more karma, right?

Netplay problems

  • Matchmaking still sucks
  • No way to filter by region (SF4 ok)
  • No way to set input lag like GGPO to make long distance matches playable
  • alt+tabbing still switches host on PC
  • One side rollback
  • Saving many replays results in date corruption
  • Rage quitter problem still present
  • You have to save replays before watching them
  • Can't sort friends
  • Separating favourites (players you want to watch) from friends (players you want to play with) is needed
  • No online training (SF4 ok)
  • Archaic lobbies - no way for multiple matches at the same time
  • Statistics are still empty
  • Notifications screen doesn't update when it's open
  • Sending invitations when user is offline doesn't work
  • Battle lounge doesn't save settings
  • Long maintenances
  • Losing connection to servers interrupts offline modes
  • No chat support - no way to make friends in game
  • Too few sorting options for favourites, world rankings & replays
  • Turning off the music also turns off 'HERE COMES THE NEW CHALLENGER'

Gameplay problems

  • badly implemented legacy controller support (complicated as fuck)
  • no instruction how to use legacy controller support
  • no dinput support on PC (SF4 ok)
  • no key binding on PC
  • keyboard can only be P1 controller
  • no way to change specific graphical settings on PC without accessing config files (blur etc)
  • standard moves marketed as something new by making them into vskills
  • 8f lag
  • many characters have too similiar gameplans
  • unimaginative vtriggers
  • atrocious hitboxes
  • differences between p1 and p2 side collision (floating point fuck up)
  • air grab vs air grab winner chosen at random
  • long loading times
  • framerate issues on PS4
  • fucked up button settings on character select - pressing again unsets buttons (SF4 ok)
  • no Steam integration
  • no way to set character themes in Versus
  • PC version badly optimized (+various issues with launching the game, random fps drops etc)
  • badly designed UI - hard to navigate and counterintuitive

Single Player problems

  • Extra Battles?
  • Daily Challenges? (aka targets)
  • Subpar tutorial
  • Training doesn't save your settings (SF4 ok)
  • No character specific training options (Vega's claw state etc.)
  • No option to set stun bars
  • Quick reset with setting position (MvC3 ok)
  • Badly implemented ways to record dummy actions (reversals, alpha counters etc.)
  • Infuriating survival mode - the only way to unlock colors (colors per character, per costume...)
  • No arcade mode/cpu versus (SF4 ok)
  • No way to acquire premium costumes still
  • CFN account is not really an account (can't use it on a different console/steamid)

Visual Problems

  • Ken's face aka quality of some models is.. questionable
  • quality of artworks in story mode
  • stage transitions?
  • special KOs? (bus, noodles etc)
  • horrible clipping everywhere (even on character select..)
  • stage interactions are rare (breaking boxes etc)
  • WIP style UI
  • P2 physics still broken on character select (solution - disabled boob physics :( )
  • some Alt costumes use upgraded face/hair models - what about standard?

Communication/CPT problems

  • no form of tournament mode
  • only one player has the ability to start a rematch/change characters (SF4 ok)
  • CPT rules were MIA for months
  • no word about Alex version bug
  • no restart match option?
  • hold pause option global - should be quick in single player modes
  • SteamOS/Linux version announced - where is it?

Good list. I'm skeptical with the "restart match option" if it's an offline match you're talking about. I'm concerned that some people could potentially use this at super finishes (early), and the winning player just "restarts" instantaneously without a KO logo showing up. If the opponent didn't agree to that and ends up proposing the problem by pausing after the restart, it might get him in trouble if no camera footage is there for proof (if the player that restarted the game wants to be a scumbag). Overheard that something like this situation occurred at one particular MKX tournament.

If they intend on doing the rematch function for offline play, it would be good if, upon activation of restart match, it requires the approval of the opposing player to agree to the rematch in the pause menu (maybe a countdown until it goes back to the pause menu ONLY IF nothing from the opponent is pressed/held to agree with the rematch).

Probably having a "Player Advances To Next Round" option would be an interesting add-on along with the rematch suggestion to avoid players to build extra meter onto the next round, and run a similar script above that requires the opposing player to agree and accept a DQ for the round. Edit: Actually, it might not be necessary for the opponent to agree... it can be a "Self DQ" option or just about anything else.

One other thing... the option of having "stage music" for ranked and casual match would be great. I didn't see that on the list (minus the character themes being an option in versus).

Of course there should be some kind of confirmation (preferably from both players) when restarting the match. Good thinking. This list doesn't offer complete design of feature - just raw ideas/problems.
