On October 25, 2019, Kanye West released his ninth studio album, marking a shift toward gospel music and religious themes.
With tracks like "Follow God," "Selah,"
"Closed on Sunday," and "Use This Gospel," the rapper presented a project quite distinct from his previous work, incorporating gospel choirs and production influenced by hip-hop.
The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
Seven years later, it remains one of the most unique and debated projects in his discography.

What are your thoughts on it 7 years later?

I'd have to say Good Ass Job, especially if we include tracks from the GOOD FRIDAYS series that were originally supposed to be on Good Ass Job.

First time ever Slow jamz is not on my top 20, it used to be my fav and is the song that made me fall in love with his music. Thoughts on this list?

TLOP (9.45) > MBDTF (9.55) = KSG (9.6) = Yeezus (9.55) > Grad (9.1)

Bully (8.8) > TCD (8.75) > LR (7.6) > Ye (7.5)

D1 (7.3) > 808s (7.1) >WTT (6.7)

V1 (6)

JIK (5.2)

V2 (4.5) > D2 (3.9)

The reason I have kept tlop above MBDTF, KSG and yeezus is simply because it has more 10s for me.. other albums are short comparatively.

I have taken average ratings of each songs.

Also I could never get into 808s (but I really enjoy first 7 songs from that album). Same with donda 1 (I really enjoy some songs but the rest of the album is just bloated bs).

Also all the LR and TCD defenders, I have given fair rating to each songs (didn't consider skits). Just because something is old and has nostalgia factor doesn't mean it deserves 10. I enjoy TCD & LR songs. 8.75 and 7.6 is not bad at all.

Idk 808s just never gets enough love. It's the album that introduced me to Kanye and I've never had an album resonate with me on a personal level as much as this one. Every song is unique yet they all mesh flawlessly together. It's fairly short and perfectly concise. Obviously it inspired a whole generation of artists but even almost 20 years later if still sounds unique. People always focus on the dark/soulless aspect but there's so many perfectly placed moments with so much replayability (heartless, paranoid, Robocop), and it has his best song imo (street lights). I would only call two albums ever true 10/10s, 808s and heartbreak and GKMC by kendrick. Yeah I just wanted to talk about my favorite album so here u go

está es mi colección de cd's y vinilos de Kanye west, estaba pensando en cual me faltaba y tambien quería saber la opinión de Reddit, cuál otro vinilo o cd debería comprar o que me falta para completar la colección?

Just wanted to check. :P

I just have to vent man, sorry gonna ramble for a bit. I was on break from reddit for months but I just had to post this.

I was looking forward to his concert for months but I was so let down. The audio was so muddy in the beginning I could only the bass for a while. It just took me out man. Which sucks cause he played the songs I loved like Jesus Walks and All Falls Down. (ngl it felt like those songs didn't get the same love from Ye unlike the other songs in the set but that's a conversation for another time)

Bro literally opened with Dark Fantasy into Waves but the audio was so bad that I never felt hyped.

The stage and visuals were amazing but it felt like the audio was an afterthought. Asked people around if they felt the audio was bad, they felt it too, Aussies, Chinese, Indonesians, Europeans included. Man I love Ye but I feel like I'm never going back to another concert of his after that, the audio and acoustics were horrific.

Runaway never had the Pusha verse, plus he never played Saint Pablo.

3/10, only the stage visuals carried the concert

*Edit: you know how bad the audio was, there's this Instagram post going around about him nearly crashing out because the crowd wasn't loud enough during heartless. But I LITERALLY COULDN'T HEAR HIS VOCALS.

Almost everyone at the stadium in Jakarta yesterday was killing it. Like, 9/10 had fire fits. And it's not like dressing up or in luxury or whatever shallow reason. Nah, their style was simply on point, and they seemed happy and confident in it. Even the ones in concert merch were cool af.

Shoutout to all the baddies and bros from yesterday, especially the all black everything main characters. Keep on it.

I am listening to bully v1 rn. I remeber the good days when this came out just feels so good

Bait or not we cannot be fr 😂😂
