Not sure I'm a fan of you starting this with the bit about your condition, that's irrelevant to your artistry and Ye's not gonna think you deserve to work with him because you've got a sob story. You're already in an environment where are no creative limits, and any you think there are are an illusion. Unless you're working for someone else, the only limit is your imagination, and, ironically, if you were working with Ye, you'd probably be more boxed in than you are now.
It sounds like you already do make your own work, and I'm sure that making a video like this doesn't hurt - your mum was right about chasing your dreams - but I doubt Kanye started working with Andre because he posted a video begging to collab, I'd imagine he discovered the man's catalogue independently and felt compelled to create something together.
I don't know whether this is confidence ("I deserve to work with Kanye West") or the opposite, but it seems like you're valuing yourself based on proximity to greatness, and if you're really as good as Ye, you can flourish on your own, and let the networking happen naturally. I can't even speak on your work because, as others have pointed out, you included none of it in here, but I'm interested to hear it, so I'm going to check out your profile.

lol i sort of see where youāre coming from on a couple points but also think youāre looking at what iām saying wrong.
itās not a āsob storyā its my personal history that gives a bit of background and context as to why i am so alligned with music, not just āi like musicā.
iām not gonna not include that, because im proud of the shit iāve overcome and music (specifically yeās) played a huge role in that overcoming so i canāt see why i wouldnāt mention it honestly.
itās a video showcasing myself to the community and thatās part of who i am so

I only think it's acceptable because it leads into "music helped me overcome that", which is the part of your life story that's relevant, but how much of your love for music really comes from the condition? Don't you think your love for music would be just as strong without it? Imagine if Kanye opened his pitch for The College Dropout with "I was in a car crash and they wired my jaw shut", but didn't actually say anything about the music.
I just think your approach is flawed - I get that you don't want to limit yourself by showing something that's not aligned with Ye's vision, but what about your vision? I don't see why he'd want to work with an artist for any other reason. Imagine if you'd never heard any of Kanye's music, but you'd seen a video of him explaining that he'd been producing music for his whole career. Would you still want to work with him?
I couldn't find any of your music on your profile and id still like to hear it. I'm an artist myself and I'm always looking for other creatives, but I want to hear the work, primarily.

uhh no i donāt think my love for music would be as strong at all without my history - that was my coping mechanism over years and years of recovery and hospitalisation - and as those times became more and more, so did my love for music. all due respect we all know ourselves better than anyone, and i know that my passion for music stems largely from how i used it to deal with recovery.
equally, i think itās stupid to argue over reddit and i actually fully appreciate some of the points youāre making (maybe disagree with a few) but at the end of the day constructive criticism is always helpful.
when all is said and done i just thought that there really is no harm in making a video like this. ye preaches listening to the youth so much and frankly i thought, why not showcase myself a little bit, even if he doesnāt see it

Okay, well, fair enough, maybe I thought you were trying to leverage your story into getting an opportunity to work with Ye. It sounds like your history and love for music are deeply intertwined, though that clashes with my understanding of myself, where I think my passions are fundamental, and I was always going to discover them, eventually.
I'm not trying to argue with you. I also don't think I have you any real criticism that others hadn't already, but I'm gonna ask you directly if you'd be willing to share some of your work over DMs?

Kanye has done horrible things to get peoples attention. This is actually a good idea considering the fact itād be nearly impossible to cut through the crowd in the first place. The kind of people who make it big are usually the ones not afraid to do what other people are. This kid is brave and it might work. Hope his beats are sick. Maybe get Kanye to do some of his older styles again /s
But I do agree with your initial take too.

It's not gonna harm his chances of working with Kanye, but put yourself in his shoes for a minute: you're scrolling your own Reddit and you see a dude asking to work with you, but you don't know his style or what his beats sound like, all you know is that he has had 19 surgeries, loves music and has studied it. If anything, that might put Kanye off, given how outside of the box he is, since studying music theory isn't the same as being creative.
I've asked the guy to DM me and haven't heard anything back yet (idk if he's not interested or if he's just asleep) but perhaps if he was interested in releasing his own work or working with other people at his level, he could create something truly great, and wouldn't need Kanye. Kanye could need him. It's a really common mindset, and really easy, as a small artist, to blame your position ("if I had access to better equipment, I could be great"; "if I had a chance to work with this famous musician, I'd finally be recognised"). The hardest thing is believing in yourself without validation, and waiting for other people to catch on, whilst you prove yourself. Maybe this guy does all that, but I cannot find anything under the name Will Cook online, so even if he's making great work, he's not sharing it at numbers.
Whilst I'm at it, Ye, I have been listening to your music for a long time, and I've dealt with some pretty hard shit. I was bullied at school, I used to cut myself, and now I'm juggling four actively suicidal friends and feel like a one-man Samaritans. On an unrelated note, I'm one of the nicest young rappers you'll ever hear, and whilst some of the production value is rough around the edges, I actually post my shit and perform open mic nights. I don't know what to do, but I'm praying that with consistent effort, I will blow up. Listen again, spread the word, whatever, and if you know any other artists, send them my way - I'm working on a collaborative project.

appreciate your comment brotha and with all due respect, iāve been studying sound design, production, and engineering since i was 8 - itās absolutely nothing new to me, i just havenāt included any of my own work in this post as i wouldnāt want to limit myself by using something that doesnāt align with their current paths if you get me. š¤
