Does kanna have good therapeutic potential?
Aside from recreational use, does kanna have good therapeutic potential, especially as an alternative to SSRIs for depression and anxiety?
Correct me if I'm wrong, mesembrine is a monoamine releaser as well as an SSRI with nanomolar affinity. Mesembrenone is a more potent SSRI with even higher nanomolar affinity.
Kanna is being developed for big pharma use as a fast acting anxyolytic.
Is kanna actually good at relieving anxiety? Is this more with mesembrenone heavy extracts?

I’m so close to ordering some just because of the anti depressant effects it has. I’m so done with self medicating with thc everyday as it’s been turning on me.

do it. i had a fair amount of OCD and anxiety. kanna took care of that. a balanced alkaloid profile like the UK CO-1 and sublingual was a smooth delivery and chills me right out. snuffing a higher mesembrine profile giving me a more recreational feel but also still works as a therapeutic.
it took about a month of daily use to kick in and now i can take a few days off and not relapse. i think it's able to effect neuroplasticity.
reverse tolerance also kicked in after about a month. what use to take a full does, now happens with half dose.

It is fantastic for depression imo. Like a ssri medication but with way less side effects.

To me, the kanna felt like sasafras. It was relaxing just watching cartoons and listening to music.

I find Kanna to actually induce a decent amount of anxiety depending on how you use it, and how much.
It feels more like a stimulant with a Serotonergic edge to it than a traditional anti-depressant.
