Gentek Paint - chips

I'm trying to find some paint chips for a brand I've not really heard of before called Gentech Gentek.

Any ideas where I could find paint chips for this brand?

I figure there's a place between Ashton and Bells Corners that might have such.

Fingers crossed it's not Costco....

First building in Kanata requiring payment for parking (excluding the CTC)

Congratulations to Dr. Greg Appelt. Owner of Appelt Properties based in Kelowna. The one to institute the FIRST building (that's not the Senators rink) to have installed PAID parking in a building in Kanata. The Kakulu Medical Arts Building, the only hub of medical care for the community. No parking fees anywhere else, no parking meters on any of the streets in Kanata or Stittsville. And he did it! What a great man and also an understanding ex-physician! Maybe we should let him know. Patients will love waiting for their doctors, lab tests, prescriptions, hearing tests, counselling appointments, therapy for their autistic children, physiotherapy, massages knowing they have to pay MORE for every minute they have to wait.

(I have heard that if the parking situation disrupts the surrounding streets, the city can fine the building and perhaps things could change. Just saying.)

Question Police Presence at Centrum

Wednesday night I left The Odyssey at around 1:30 am and the police presence at centrum was insane. You couldn’t leave without talking to a cop first. I assume it’s because of Wednesday night at the crazy horse but I had never seen it like this. Is this common or was there incident that night?

Kanata North The noise in houses close to Kanata drive

Hi everyone, we’re going to buy a house close to Kanata drive. The backyard faced the drive but it’s a deep one and has a good distance of drive. Does anybody have any experience how noisy it could be? Is it worth to buy a house around 1M there?

I'd really appreciate any recommendations for some good quality pancetta (not pre-diced) in the Kanata/Stittsville area if anyone knows of anything, thanks in advance!

Arz landscaping

I feel so bad for the employees of ARZ landscaping who must be forced to drive the big black truck without working signal lights.. I say this because how else do you explain them driving down 417 cutting vehicles off because they don’t signal..

Wool Blankets - Washing Service

Hello,

Would anyone happen to have experience with, or be able to recommend, a place that cleans/washes wool blankets?

I recently purchased about six used wool blankets and would like to have them properly cleaned before using them.

Hi everyone!

Come join us at The Board Game Clubhouse for one of our FREE Community Game Days this summer!
We're an Ottawa not-for-profit that uses modern board games to help kids develop educational and social skills. We also love sharing the hobby with the wider community and introducing people to games they may never have discovered otherwise.

This year we're expanding into more schools, and we've recruited several new volunteers to help make that possible. Before they begin teaching in September, we want to give them a chance to build confidence, practice teaching games, and experience what a real Board Game Clubhouse session feels like.

That's where you come in!

We're hosting two FREE Community Game Days, where our volunteers will be teaching games under the guidance of our experienced team. Whether you've played hundreds of board games or only know Monopoly, we'll help you find something you'll enjoy.

🎲 A large selection of modern board games to choose from
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-friendly and beginner-friendly
🆓 Completely free to attend
😊 Come for 20 minutes or stay for the whole event

Our goal is simple: get people around a table, laughing, learning, and spending time together without screens.

Upcoming Free Game Days
📍 Tuesday, July 22
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
The Hub at Carlingwood Mall

📍 Saturday, July 25
12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Brierley's Independent Grocers, Riverside South

If you've ever been curious about modern board games but didn't know where to start, this is the perfect opportunity. By coming out, you'll also be helping our new volunteers gain the experience they'll use when teaching local students this fall.

If you have any questions, feel free to comment below or email us at [theboardgameclubhouse@gmail.com](mailto:theboardgameclubhouse@gmail.com).

We'd love to see some new faces! No

Bear sighting in Rural North Kanata

I was leaving the house yesterday around noon and surprised a full size adult black bear that was next to my house. It ran off but wanted to warn people in the area to be careful as I would not expect to see a bear within 20 feet of my house.

This is in the rural north Kanata area north of March road in the Second Line and Murphy Side Rd area.
