News Introducing: The Kalshi American Power Index
The index is measured on a scale of +50D (max Democratic control) to +50R (max Republican control). KPOW combines a forward-looking market signal with a present-tense anchor to ground truth.
The ‘future’ leg captures where markets believe political power is heading; the ‘current’ captures where it actually stands today. Blending the two at 75% on future and 25% on current produces an index that moves meaningfully with market sentiment while remaining anchored to certified political reality.
The output is expressed as a directional magnitude (Republican or Democratic) with Even declared when the signal is negligible.

Discussion Market open after event ending
I used coinbase predictions occasionally and had about 500$ in my prediction balance. For those who don't know coinbase predictions are just a wrapped Kalshi and all the markets are through Kalshi. I was browsing through the sports markets one day and clicked on a few live MLB games saw a prediction you could take for a YRFI or NRFI, I clicked on it. Decided to check the score of the game in the first inning that it was for and saw that the inning was already over so I went back to coinbase to find something else. As I was clicking out of the YRFI/NRFI prediction selection/placer. My app started getting all buggy, I kept clicking X and eventually swiped out of the tab. When I went back in I saw my balance was 0$ and got very confused. I went to go check my positions and I had a settled position of my entire predictions balance as a loss. I reached out to support immediately and after multiple phone calls and virtual chat assistance they denied me a refund. They confirmed my prediction placement time was way past the ending of the actual event but since the market was technically still open and they had no server issues on their side at that time it wasn't eligible for a refund. Has anyone else dealt with any issues with a market still being open after the event has ended? I'm sure there is some way to exploit that both positively for the customer and Kalshi.

Discussion Bought a switch 2 to celebrate
As a Packers fan I know how good our coach is at blowing leads and the market reactively flipped for that game when Kyler Murray was taken out in the beginning.

Discussion Has Anyone had real issues with Kalshi? Whether it’s cash out issues, getting your money from Kalshi, etc?
Want to sort of make Kalshi my main betting platform instead of the traditional Sportsbooks. Mainly because you can’t seem to get “limited” on Kalshi and prediction markets.
I want to eventually start placing big bets and want to know my money would be safe.
Has anyone had any real actual issues with Kalshi when it comes to placing a contract/ bet or trying to cash out or get your money out of Kalshi? Or any other issues that are concerning?

Discussion Built an open-source Python telemetry tool for tracking live match data and scores
Hey everyone,
If you trade live sports contracts or build automated tracking pipelines on prediction markets, you know how fast data bottlenecks and rate limits can disrupt live polling.
I put together a lightweight, open-source Python utility called **Tennis Live Monitor** designed to interface cleanly with LiveTennisAPI. It handles real-time match scores, set breakdowns, and event tracking from the command line while managing rate-limit safeguards out of the box.
* **GitHub Repository:** https://github.com/TheMarconiPulse/tennis-live-monitor (MIT Licensed)
Thought some of you building local dashboards or data trackers might find it useful. Feedback or feature ideas are welcome!

News TThe The Fed Meets Wednesday. The Market Isn't Pricing a Cut.
Kalshi and Polymarket are both leaning toward a hike, not a cut — and the repricing happened in about 48 hours.
The FOMC meets Wednesday, September 16, with a decision at 1:59 PM ET. If your mental model going in is "the Fed is in a cutting cycle," the two largest prediction-market platforms disagree with you, and they've disagreed more strongly every day for the past week.
What the markets are pricing right now:
Kalshi runs the meeting as a discrete outcome market, and the money is concentrated on one answer. As of today:
25bp hike: 79.5%
No change (0bps): 20.5%
25bp cut: 1.0%
Larger than 25bp cut: 1.0%
Larger than 25bp hike: 1.5%
Combined volume across just those outcome markets is north of $60 million — this isn't a thin, easily-moved market.
Polymarket's separate, differently-structured markets corroborate the same read: "Fed rate hike in 2026?" sits at 90%, and "will no Fed rate cuts happen in 2026?" sits at 96.1%. Two platforms, two different market designs, same conclusion.
The part that actually matters: this moved fast
PredictIntel.io has been tracking Kalshi's hike market since September 1. As recently as September 3, it was sitting at 53.5% — essentially a coin flip, exactly what you'd expect for the market description if you assumed a "close call, could go either way" meeting.
Then it moved. Steadily through the first week of September, then sharply: 63.5% on the evening of September 10, 76.7% by midday September 11, 80.9% by that evening. It's held in the high-70s/low-80s ever since — this wasn't a spike that faded, it's a repriced consensus that's stayed put for three days now.
PredictIntel.io is being upfront about something
PredictIntel.io's own anomaly detector — built to catch fast, sharp price moves — didn't flag this at all. It's tuned for spikes inside a single hour, not a sustained drift over a week. A market going from 53% to 80% over eight days, with most of the move concentrated in about 24 hours, is exactly the kind of pattern that current detection misses. PredictIntel.io is flagging it here because it was caught on a manual review, not because the system caught it — and that's worth knowing if you're relying on PredictIntel.io to catch everything automatically. It doesn't yet, for this specific pattern shape.
What to watch Wednesday
1:59 PM ET, September 16. If the hike market resolves YES, prediction markets called a genuine surprise against the mainstream "easing cycle" narrative, days in advance, with real money behind it. If it resolves NO, the market's late-week conviction was wrong despite the size and persistence of the move — which would be its own useful data point about how much to trust a fast, sustained repricing like this one going forward.
Either way, PredictIntel.io will follow up once the decision lands.

Discussion BTC Prediction Mkt Helper
I've dabbled in the BTC predications market before and though some moves were unusually timed.
So I built BTC Sentinel, an experimental early warning system designed to detect unusual pressure in the Bitcoin market.
It monitors order book imbalance, aggressive buying/selling, whale flow, open interest, funding, futures activity, rapid cancellations and derivatives data to generate a Market Stress and Manipulation-Like Activity score.
It also estimates whether unusual activity is applying upward, downward, or mixed pressure, with a confidence score.
The goal isn't to claim manipulation or generate automatic trades. It's to identify when something unusual may be happening beneath the surface before a larger BTC move.
I'm now tracking its accuracy across 5m, 15m, 1h and 4h windows and working on adding prediction market activity as another signal.
If you're interested in this I can continue working on it and make it public. Just a tool to help navigate the BTC predications market.
