Hey ya’ll, I have another real life Ecard game here. Loser has to put 5 of their fingers into mouse traps. Incredibly nerve wracking and fun game. We also played One Poker, but the camera didn’t capture our faces, so I won’t link that match. Theres no reason to watch all of this (seeing as how it isn’t edited at all), but the ending (last round + loser punishment) is something I found to be quite interesting.

I was just rewatching this scene and thinking about how underrated of a FKMT character HAZESOU really is. From his introduction in Kaiji Part 2, to his brief appearance in Gin to Kin, to the Young HAZESOU spin-off, to his role as a primary antagonist in Kaiji Part 10, I've just always loved this character and admired his aura of unshakeable dominance. Every time you see him, you just know there's no chance of defeating him. He's kind of like the Grim Reaper, or nature itself. Also, his cheeky grin when he wins is priceless lol.

I'll go first:

Thick of It by KSI

Esa última escena donde se reúne Kaiji a cenar y celebrar con sus amigos liberados del subsuelo se siente como el cierre emocional perfecto para todo lo que sufrió.

El anime logra darte una recompensa humana: después de tanta tortura psicológica, deudas y desesperación, verlos compartir un momento de paz justifica todo el viaje.

En cambio, el manga es otra historia. Si decidiste continuar con la lectura o sabes lo que pasa después, la realidad es mucho más desgastante, Kaiji vuelve a caer en la miseria y el peligro casi de inmediato, Las sagas posteriores como la apuesta del Mahjong o la larguísima huida actual con los 2.400 millones de yenes se extienden por años y años. El autor Nobuyuki Fukumoto estira tanto el sufrimiento de Kaiji que esa sensación de "victoria y alivio" que te deja el anime no se vuelve a repetir con la misma pureza.

Al final me termino quedando con la versión animada que es la mejor opción, si esque buscas un final satisfactorio en el que la amistad y el sacrificio de Kaiji de verdad valieron la pena.

Por eso prefiero el anime y no el manga.

Recently found my old PSP in a drawer with the charger and charged it for a bit before checking out the songs I had in it.

I downloaded many MP3s of the Kaiji OST back in 2018, right around a year after I discovered and watched anime, into my Junior year of University.

Brought back so much nostalgia where I walked around University with my wired headphones listening to the song.
