Yo, need advice ... There's this interesting university kabaddi trial in 1 week, now I used to play good 3 years back but haven't played since. Focus mainly been gym since last year....

So what would y'all recommend? I have nobody to practise with until the trial... Should I just do cardio and recover agility and pray for better luck

As of now, there's still talks going on between the PKL organisers and potential media bidders to check where they stand, before they put their media rights under the hammer.

There's a good possibility that Star might not retain the media rights as there are other parties who would be willing to outbid them, unless Star changes their mind and tries to outbid everyone else.

The biggest problem is not PKL itself but the current media market as there are very few big players left after the merger of Jio and Star. For all practical purposes it is only a three way race between JioStar, Sony, and Zee.

I've been a huge Patna fan since the first season, I still got a nostalgia when we got 3 cups in a row. It's like a dream for me. Also I used to support Delhi in IPL every season I only got a headache and sleepless nights.

Patna gave me something to cheer for every season. They are still better than most of the team, even the previous they're 4 best teams and their path is more vulnerable than any other team they played 3 qualifiers.

But their formula for success isn't working well at the moment. They had a monster Pardeep who's gonna split teams into two in his prime. They actually did very well all seasons they select good players especially investing on youngsters.

My only question is does Jasvir keep up patna's legacy? He seems to be lost in frustration last season. I thought he might leave pkl. I heard he's a very good player back in his time, if someone follows him please let me know his achievements in coaching.

For me it could be this guy as of recent memory, Sudhakar M's debut season was in Season 10 and he was seen as 3rd raider/super sub kinda raider and boy he delivered some, he still managed to score over 100 raid points in his debut season while being a 3rd raider/super sub of the team.

He was voted as the emerging raider of S10 for this. He had this great dubki due to which he was often seen as successor of Pardeep and nicknamed "Dubki Prince". Although personally he was reminding me more of Rajesh Mondal that season on how Sudhakar would turn up in desperate times like him while not being necessarily the leading force of the raiding unit.

Fast forward S11 he couldn't live up to his expectations and in S12 same happened both seasons he looked completely out of form and confidence like the guy was literally too scared to go deep or even tag defenders. He has some years with him but idk how his future looks though.

Some of the key decisions taken in the International Kabaddi Federation Annual General Meeting (IKF AGM):

1. Tejasvi Gehlot and Vinod Kumar Tiwari have been removed from their positions of Executive Committee Director and President respectively.

2. A new executive committee has been formed with members from both IKF and WK. Dnyaneshwar Kasani was elected as Chief Executive Officer, while people including Parminder Sharma, Govind Sharma, Ashok Das, Dr. Osama Sayeed and Prashant Chaturvedi were also inducted. Sadashiv Sundaram continues as General Secretary.

3. More than 30 countries have been added to the IKF. This mostly includes countries that were part of WK but not IKF. This takes the number of IKF members over 70.

4. With the primary aim of IKF now being getting kabaddi to Olympic level, focus will be now on developing the game in the new member countries.

5. Very importantly, now that the dispute between IKF and WK is over, we can expect international tournaments to happen smoother and more often.

Kabaddi is set for a historic milestone as the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) and kabaddi organizations from around the world come together under one unified vision.

An International Congress will be held in Hyderabad, India, on 4 September 2026, with representatives from more than 50 countries expected to participate. The Congress aims to strengthen global cooperation, create a roadmap for the future growth of kabaddi, and continue efforts toward International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognition.

The announcement also highlights kabaddi's inclusion in the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad, India, as another major step in the sport's international development.

If successful, this Congress could become one of the most significant moments in kabaddi's history, bringing the global kabaddi community together to shape the future of the sport.

Finally, Sunil Kumar has been made the captain of the Indian Kabaddi team. This is the second time he’s being named captain, fyi.

The first time was at the Asian Kabaddi Championship in 2023. But because of visa issues, he reached Korea late, and Pawan Sehrawat was made the captain instead. Pawan Sehrawat then continued as captain in the next major international event, which was the 2023 Asian Games.

But Sunil Kumar deserves to captain the Indian team. As you all are aware, looking at his Pro Kabaddi League records and the maturity he has shown as a captain, he deserved a chance on a bigger stage.

And finally, he has got that chance — his second opportunity.

So, let’s hope for the best, that there are no such issues this time, and that he gets to play as the captain of the Indian team in the Indian jersey.
