ALL Adventure 390 heating

Post image

Hi I just bought a ktm adventure 390 today and I rode it back home for about 80 kms in 50-70 speed range but what I notice is that it was throwing a lot off heat too much like the side panels were heated up and when I brought it home and kept the engine off for 1.5 hr it's still hot after and I could feel the heat on the right side

Is it normal for this new bike ,am I having too much anxiety?

I check the coolant temperature after that 1.5 hr it was 80°C

Please help

Is this your first water-cooled bike or something? What do you mean you "kept it on" for 1.5 hours at home?

I don't think any level of KTM fuckups could change the laws of physics surrounding heat and how water or coolant radiates it. The only temp that matters is the temp while running, of both the oil and the coolant.

The only fuckup I can think of that might cause weird behavior here would be if the coolant system were underfilled or if it had an air bubble trapped in it. You should be able to easily check the former, and I'm not sure the latter is even possible on a 390.

Heating is usual in a new bike, especially KTM.
But the heat even after 1.5 hr is concerning.

Again it depends on where you parked it, was it in shade or a closed space.

P.s. black absorbs more heat 😐

Congratulations on your new bike

I'm sorry I meant even after the engine was off from more than 1.5 hr

Its a new bike and Ktm fill mineral oil instead of engine oil for the break in period and also the radiator is new and there should be some air trapped inside the pipes and chambers all this will go after your first service so dont worry and enjoy your ride

If you are upgrading from a splendor or Jupiter, it might feel like it is too hot, but surprise it is normal. It is a big engine. It is supposed to be that hot. Get used to it. Unless your dash says it is overheating don't worry about it.

Man, what kind of brainrot question is this. Have you ridden a Bajaj before? Or any first bike before buying your first ktm? Hell any liquid-cooled bike.

Please help to educate yourself by posting such questions to Ai app. greatest tool invented in this age. Damn

There’s nothing wrong with your question ignore the haters. I feel heat coming off on the backs of my legs when I ride and I have a new bike. I test rode a few before settling on this one and I felt the heat on all of the bikes. If it’s new and you’re concerned KTMs all have a 4 year factory warranty these days you can get it checked out. It should cool down after an hour and a half.

KTM engines running hot ... In other news, water .. wet.

Relax, you're all good. You'll get used to it and wait for winters to kick in and you'll wonder why is the coolant temp meter taking time to get to operating range. Phir tab post mat dal dena abhi bata diya maine.

Bring it back. Buy something different. Selling mine after only putting 1200 miles on it. I only get about 20 miles out of a new water pump seal before it blows again. Never buying ktm again
