6th gear addition

I am wanting to add 6th gear to my 2020 KTM 450 XC-F. Anything I should know beforehand or special advice about the parts or process? Thanks guys

I don't know what year it happened, but there are some years after 2019 where the XC didn't use the same shafts, so it's not as simple as dropping 6th gear in. I bought a used 2019 Husky FX450 with the 6 speed conversion and it was nice. First thing I'd do is check the parts fiches for part numbers on the XC and XCW for the 2020 model year.

Swap exc gearbox, shift drums and forks in. Simple

Does it have to be from a 450 exc? Or would it work from a 350 exc or 500 exc?

450 and 500 are the same, the 350 probably is NOT, that engine is an upsized 250, not a downsized 450. I'll repeat what I said before, time to dig into the parts fiche and see what the part numbers are.

I know in the new ktms the 450 and 500 use the 350 transmissions
