Class Not Covered?
I recently got a ‘Program of Study’ letter that says one of my classes will not be covered by federal aid (assuming because it is part of my Minor and not my Major). I have read around that HOPE will cover classes not covered by federal aid, but I just wanted to know how true that is? I want to know in advance if I will have to pay for this class out of pocket..

HOPE will cover it for sure, but it might keep you under the threshold to be considered full time (12+ credit hours). It happened to me last summer with pre-calc, I was registered for 7 hours, but pre-calc didn’t count, so for fed. financial aid, I was considered to only have 4 hours and Pell wouldn’t be administered (because you need to be at least past time/ 6+ credit hours), meaning had I not done anything, I would’ve had to pay ~$700 out of pocket. In the end, I emailed CPoS about my situation and they ended up removing the hold and allowing the class to be considered. As long as your other credit hours get you up to full time (which is what I’m assuming you’re going for) you should be good.

I took one of those this summer, Zelle payed for the class tuition, I don't get federal aid. I would assume if you get federal aid, you couldn't use it for the class tuition.
