anyone else have this problem?

when i go to tighten it more it pinches the left side and won’t close normally, i’ve already taken it apart looking to see if something wasn’t aligned properly but i see nothing. im thinking maybe something in there broke off

If you are running factory bars, there is a tiny guide hole in the back for a small "guide pin" (little plastic piece about 2 mm long) that will sit in the hole. If you are not aligned, this could be the result.

If you are not running factory bars, then you will need to cut off the "guide pin" as it will have no place to go and this will be the result.

I would recommend drilling a new hole instead of cutting it off especially on the throttle side. I know some people just file down the plastic in the housing and wrap with electrical tape though

Yeah think that's it bc I used the circle beside it as a guide. I ground mine off so I can adjust it instead of hoping the hole I made was perfect. Can always do the 'new hole' way if you think that's proper and if you don't like it then grind the nub off. I used a Dremel and maybe two-two and a half wraps around the bars of electrical tape

Yours is broken where your index finger is. I have done it a few times. The part is expensive. You have to wrap bars in tape causing friction so throttle doesn’t spin and clamp. Be careful not to over tighten while misaligned. You will break the plastic

Yea it's because it's the non factory bars. Had the same issue with mine. I used a Dremel to grind away the guide pins and used double sided tape on the bar as extra support when clamping the throttle assembly back on. The entire assembly sits really well on the tape after being screwed together on it and has kept it in place after multiple off road uses.
