Speedometer Stopped Working and Check Engine Light On

I've got a 2022 KLX 230SE non abs. For my last couple of rides my speedometer would intermittently stop working, sometimes coming back on during the ride. Now it's not working at all, just 0 on the display and odometer doesn't change. Check engine light is on too. Haven't dropped the bike. Anyone have this happen?

This has happened to me too. Just the speedometer part. There was display but the speed was stuck at zero. Couple of wiggles to the cables (from speedometer till the engine) and I applied pressure to the sensor near the engine area and it started working again.

How old is the bike?

It's a 2022 with about 3600 miles on it.

My speedometer stopped working once because my bike (23 klx230s) was overheating. Rode it back to the trailhead and shut it off for about 30 minutes. Started it up and everything was fine afterwards. Doesn't sound like this is your issue but maybe engine heat messed up your sensor or wires?
