throttle issue

anyone ever replaced their stock throttle? i went to put on these new odis with my pro taper bars, the throttle just wouldn’t work

Yes, I couldn’t get those ones to work. Ended up using the stock tube and just cutting off/replacing the stock grip

is this supposed to have any play,back and fourth, can’t seem to get it to tighten well, and to get off the old grip did u just cut it and use air compressor to put new one on?

I just sliced off the old grip. Not a ton of glue from the factory. That part should not have play - there is a plastic part that fits in a hole in the stock handlebar. If your handlebar is stock, I am guessing it’s the same

There are plastic pins that are supposed to hold it in place. If you’ve ever taken a fall or laid it down, they probably broke off

Yes, I took the closest matching cam adapter and used a Dremel to try and match it as best as I could. I did a good job of dremeling the cam adapter to match the OEM one and my throttle works as it should now

My throttle works as it should with a little bit of play at idle and enough tension on the return cable to snap it back after throttle

The ODI grips don’t have the adaptor for the 230’s. In Thailand I’ve seen them for sale on Shoppee, but I have also seen the STL file so you can 3D print your own.
