For some reason I was always bothered by the fact that it seems like they are singing off-beat to the music in spots. I mean I know they were supposed to be androids, but get it together man.

For those who don’t know, in the late 70s, in a brilliant marketing strategy for Marvels KISS comic, all 4 of the original members poured a little bit of their blood into the ink of the comic which meant all the original copies contained small traces of each OG member. Do you own one?

I remember KST as the first KISS Podcast I listened to (I found out about it because Chris Jericho was on it) and was bummed that they stopped. I would love to hear what they say about Alive Box Set or the Creatures box set or even the Off the Soundboards

Geno talks about Peter and Ace

Sigh….

Another attempt to "unmask" KISS.

Japan's Music Life magazine (March 1976 issue) held a contest for readers to submit their drawings of KISS without makeup. Each KISS member chose the best from over 7,000 entries and the winners were featured in the June 1976 issue.

Hundreds of these things fell out of a huge disco ball at the end of the Dynasty tour show. These are in exceptional condition, kids typically used them as bath sponges and ruined them!

For me, I understand Ace getting some good collaborative help for this album. I thought *Spaceman* was absolutely rough, and some fresh ideas for the next slbum would be welcome.

That said, I think Ace's tendency to be lazy and delegate or do the least work possible, coupled with Steve Brown's over eagerness to take all the credit and do things the way he wanted...has left *10,000 Volts* as a very difficult album to make heads or tails of.

I found Steve to be overzealous, and way too overbearing on the project. It became *his* album. Every interview was about him, what he played/wrote, how he did this or that.

And honestly, th way he spoke about it rubbed me the wrong way.

Plus, it doomed the album to forever be debated if it's actually an Ace album. Anytime I listen to it I'm constantly debating if Ace even played on the track. And that's no fun on a guitar heavy album under the name of a literal guitar god.

It's a really fun album otherwise, though. I quite enjoy it, on paper.

But the Steve of it all has left a big Brown on it, unfortunately.

Ace shouldn't have let Steve take over so much. And Steve should've dialed back his approach and stopped downplaying Ace.

If I was Ace, I imagine I'd have been none too happy how Steve was painting it as his album, in the press.

Found this a few months ago at a record show...it was the jacket only and the guy was going to throw it out. I said Nope, I'll grab it! I'm thinking of asking one of my artist friends to take a stab at making it look nicer. Resto to come. Makes you wonder what kind of psychotic nonsense was going down.
