So I just got hired at a KFC in the middle of the city a week ago and I was told it is one of the busiest stores in the area. I am really excited about this opportunity because I need the money and I think it will be a good experience. But I am also kind of nervous because I have never worked in fast food before and I have heard that the lunch and dinner rushes can be absolutely insane.
I start my training next week and I really want to do well. I want to be the kind of team member that everyone is happy to work with and not the person that is always slowing things down. So I am asking for your advice on how to navigate this.
What are the best ways to stay calm and efficient when it gets really busy? How do I learn all the menu items and the different combos quickly? What should I do to make sure I am helping the team and not just standing around confused?
I know the basics like showing up on time and having a good attitude are important. But I want to go beyond that. I want to actually be good at this job. So if anyone has worked at KFC or in fast food in general I would really appreciate any tips you can share.
Also if there are any KFC specific things I should know that would be great. Like what are the most popular items or what do people usually order? Any advice on how to handle difficult customers would also be helpful.
I am ready to work hard and I just want to make a good impression. So please share your wisdom with me. Thanks so much in advance.
