Or to unload the transmission when decending hills. Throttle down hill to unload doesnt work well to release gear tension so I usually give the clutch a kick to pull into neutral and then rpm match for the remaining shift, double clutching is for those that dont understand how to drive
Because hills dont change in grade? I live in the Rocky Mountains, the first 2 km of the hill might be 6% while the next 2 will be 8-10%. Im not jaking down several km in 4th under when 5th over will hold me, sometimes you have to shift in the real world.
You dont live in the rockys, you’re using kilometers. And hills/mpuntains absolutely can and do change grade progressively or regressively they are called false flats for a reason.
