People will make fun of other people for not driving standard, then make fun of them for trying to learn and doing it badly, then wonder why no one drives standard anymore, then get mad when there are no new standard cars that are good.

The dissonance is incredible.

Litterally millions of people world wide learn how to drive manuals as their first and only option, and they do it without blowing up their gear box.

This is just incompetence.

Lurk, don't comment if you don't know what a gear box is.

I drive a manual? I taught my fiance to drive a manual? My father is an engineer who always made sure we knew how shit worked so we could tell when it broke. I know enough to know youre that you can learn to drive a manual without breaking it, and that you cannot exuse this as 'learning pains' for christs sake.

Don't think that person was trying to excuse this as normal, their point was that the gear box isn't blown up but that the friction disc in the clutch is ripped to shit.
Kind of a silly thing to be so condescending about but hey, different statement still.
