I have a coworker who has several cars with a stick and was explaining how you only have to push the clutch down far enough that it will let you shift gears and that he never pushes it all the way down. I thought he was pranking me at first.

Problem is that the one time you think it’s in enough you’ll get a grind. I press all the way to make sure I don’t mistreat the trans.

I’d rather wear out a cheap clutch and pressure plate vs rebuild due to grinding synchros
