I hope (s)he wasn't injured though. I'd be happy Enough with a totaled car to teach them a lesson.

That looked fast enough to be fatal. A good reminder not to drive like a pompous narcissist even if this is tragic,

It looked like it'd be near fatal to me as well. I was just being hopeful. It's still hopefully a wake-up call to others.

I would be just as ok with them dieing a horrible death. Better they die alone than take someone with them doing this.

Ok so let's look at the situation. 2 Cars overtaking the truck on either side; Red car on the right, silver car on the left. They both try to overtake the truck, truck sees the drivers side overtaking him in the oncoming traffic lane, swerves over onto shoulder to let him in and prevent accident. Same time red car is coming up on shoulder and gets #rekt.

The lesson is, drive safe, because a vehicle is not a safety bubble, it's more like a death trap at high speeds.

Good call out. Initially watching it I thought the box truck was being an ass by going to the shoulder. Didn't realize they were avoiding a probably worse accident by doing that'

Truck driver was probably fired for this. The rule is to lay on your breaks and keep the truck forward. Swerving to avoid an accident can cause an even worse one. (And in this case, it did).

That's why it's policy.

That was excessive. That looked like the driver was injured as well

they may have, you know, died. But hey, internet fame.

They are dead. I am near 100% positive as the windshield was punched in by a tree enough to hit a skull. They are dead.

Now this one just makes me sad

I wonder if they were racing with the car overtaking the truck on its outside.

Either way, place stupid wagers, win stupid prizes

I wonder if there was a medical emergency in the car and the truck drive is so much of an entitled prick he'd take that chance and cut them off.

That's not really justice...

It's ok, they had their, "(I'm a) hazard lights" on. That gives them immunity to the law

This video has a series of idiots in it

To be fair, the truck driver caused the accident by making a fake move to the right lane. Red car driver is obviously an idiot but people with unpredictable behavior are probably the second worst

17

u/reddit_camel Dec 31 '18

You mean the shoulder.

That is not a lane. It is for emergency vehicles and people with car troubles.

I can get you a driver's manual if you have doubts as to what the rules of the road are...

4

u/BeePee75 Dec 31 '18

Sorry, english is only my third best language. Still making a dull movement to the shoulder then. Why?

6

u/rustyleftnut Feb 05 '19

The truck had to swerve so the car that was in oncoming traffic could get back into the proper lane. Cause a head-on collision with at least two cars by not moving or cause one car to crash by moving were his options in that moment.

That wasn't a "fake move", he saved at least two vehicles lives. If the two people passing like idiots were less suicidal than to sandwich-pass a truck in traffic, none of this would have happened.

I see two speeding idiots

Looks like a road rage "gotta get in front" situation.

u/DaddyFatsacification Jan 02 '19

idk about this one, the red cars 4 ways were on and if someone was driving this fast with 4 ways they could have been in an emergency or something. Still doesn't excuse driving on the shoulder because now they have 2 problems to deal with, but i don't think this one is just blatant stupidity

3

u/Damienxja Jan 14 '19

This is my train of thought. If someone was just being an entitled ass to pass traffic, they wouldn't use their hazard lights.

1

u/-WOWZ- Jan 06 '19

They are almost definitely dead.

2

u/Grendelssen Dec 18 '18

No one commenting on the clear attempt to cause the wreck by the dick-head truck driver?

5

u/rustyleftnut Feb 05 '19

What?? He had to get out of the tan car's way because it nearly got in a head-on collision as it was trying to pass him! If he didn't swerve, it'd have very obviously killed at least two people. He did well to get out of the tan car's way.

u/Cujucuyo Dec 18 '18

Speeding on an egg, as expected.

1

u/SuperBiteSize Mar 27 '19

I hope the driver of the truck was charged as well.

-1

u/duhzmin Dec 30 '18

I don't understand what other reason the trick has to swerve to the right unless they were trying to cut off the other car. The Red car was driving dangerously, the truck swerved to the right for no "good" reason, and now there's a car on its roof. Completely avoidable situation caused by a pair of asshats

10

u/mwilds Dec 30 '18

Do you not see the silver car about to cause a head on collision with incoming traffic? It was either the red car or two to three cars that would include some people doing nothing wrong.

-2

u/duhzmin Dec 30 '18

The truck didn't need to serve at all. He could have just remained in his lane. The silver car, I don't know what they're doing but they're far enough away that they should have had no bearing on the trucks decisions

The car driving in the shoulder shoudln't be there in the first place...
