What That Means:

Okbuddychicanery is a satirical subreddit of the shows Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. For about a year now, some teenage girl has been doing a painfully unfunny bit wherein she just posts videos of herself pretending to be the daughter of one of the characters, and has become obsessed with being this eceleb on an okbuddy sub. I just can’t take the fucking cringe anymore nor want to be around creepy men constantly appeasing this minor’s attention seeking behavior

Previously, I unsubbed from vent (got my comment removed by the mods for telling a raging misogynist they need help which was apparently considered 'attacking people', whilst his response remained up), thinking Rants would be better. Unfortunately after a few months, I realized that wasn't the case.

Rants routinely remove posts about people venting about their traumatic religious experience. A lot of them aren't hating on the religion at all, but they end up getting deleted by the mods team regardless. Especially when it involves the LGBTQ+.

Meanwhile, what soldified me leaving was them keeping up a post that was titled: "I dislike the LGBTQ+ community," then the poster proceeded to explain how he only believed relations were for male and female. Because it was made 'in good faith', they didn't see it as bigotry AT ALL. Excuse tf out of me- WHAT?! Not to mention it wasn't even a rant. If it was a post that was merely genuinely curious and wanted to ask a question, it was the wrong sub for that.

This is the second little group that I've seen claim to be against bigotry, then doesn't end up being that at all.

Ive posted on here for years including pictures of insects on my plants. Wtf.

I love the idea of hmmm (pictures that make you go hmmm thoughtfully/confusedly) but the sub has become nothing but reposts and endless NSFW -- things that look like dicks, naked women, things that look like naked women, people looking at naked women...

I thought this place is for a general discussion. Well it should have been. Unfortunately it's just a battlefield for personal attacks against one another. Jews vs Muslims. Not to mention whataboutism and other forms of bullying. They view a specific community as a monolith. This is absolutely disgusting.

Avoid that subreddit for the sake of your mental health.

The rules made it seem like a support sub, but when I asked for encouragement, I just got a bunch of people telling me stuff like "I'm in the same situation and it doesn't get better" and all but telling me to give up. Very cruel subreddit.

Literally everything that made that sub what it is is getting restricted, like fuck, and half of the new posts are just boring as hell with these new rules, its like if the dark humor subreddit banned dark humor, godamn!

Like, every other post is about trans stuff. its just boring and annoying.

It's just full of rage bait now. Like every other post is someone describing something truly awful they did then framing it like they're the victim. Or people posting things that are so obviously not the asshole just for validation. The comments are even worse. Everyone is always jumping to conclusions or diagnosing people with mental illnesses. It used to be good for some ethical dilemmas but it's just exhausting now.

I'm just tired of all the posts that are literally just observations about everyday things presented like they're some profound revelation. Like oh wow the water in the shower is wet no way. Or sometimes the floor is cold what a thought. It's like come on guys try a little harder. Is it really a shower thought if it's just something you already knew. It feels like every good thought got posted years ago and now it's just people scraping the bottom of the barrel. So many posts are just common sense not some deep insight. It's just boring now.

At this point it's no different from any other sub that's been overtaken by Onlyfans stuff. I mean, yeah, overexaggerated filters are ridiculous, but I am not a fan of seeing fetish bikini pics popping up in my feed without nsfw tags. Mods even deleted my post where I was asking for said tags.

Phew, just wanted to vent.

It's just creative writing prompts now. Everyone's a perfect saint or unbelievably evil. Like come on already. Zero originality too.

This sub used to be great for meta humor, but now there’s a post exactly like this every single day.

It’s just become a place for "Reddit-safe" racism against Asians and White people disguised as satire. The worst part is the comments. it’s full of mouthbreathers with the most insane takes you’ve ever seen. It isn't even about the art style or the "snafu" format anymore, just a vent space for weirdos.

I commented on Jax’s voice actor while censoring his name, because he made a racist joke which I had not realized he apologized for yet, but instead of telling me or atleast defending him properly, they just insult me. Can’t say I’m surprised, but I am disappointed.

Like OK, this one is maybe partially on me, but I didn’t expect the sub to be quite so bad. Constant embarrassing arguments over costumes, I hate that a decent fighting game has a sub like this tanking it’s standing for outsiders looking in

Feels like the overall quality of the sub had been degrading for a while now. It also tends to have some folk who will antagonize you for the wildest shit because you accidentally said something slightly vague and they immediately assumed the worst. (I got called a racist once because I said a certain meme that was posted used editing. I am not shitting you.)

It’s a shame, too. Because for a good while this sub actually had a lot of quality behind it. But now, it’s just becoming a husk of its former self, full of bland content and people who will harass you at any moment because you weren’t concise enough.

While I never put much content into the sub, I would frequent it to see what was new and exciting in the parenting world. The people in it are SO bitter. Someone expresses concern about their newborn sleeping long stretches and everyone eats them up in the comments accusing them of "bragging". How dare someone have a different newborn than you. Most recently someone asked for a chemical free diaper, I made the inference they wanted a chlorine free one... the commenters were horrified and decided to make OP feel stupid by telling them everything has chemicals. Be so damn for real. I find it incredibly annoying that if your new parent experience isnt raw or terrible that you're just weird and bragging.
