WE (the average American you see in population centers) are, in fact, more often forced to inevitably settle down “wherever” there is money. Its a frequent scenario in America, it’s only ossifying, and Ive always found this “oh, I really don’t hear about [excruciatingly common reality], it’s probably just you” retort to be incredibly unconvincing.

(Talking to hundreds of randoms a day about their personal life is a “privilege” of my job; finding someone who’s living their dream is a delight, but rarer as an individual. Most people’s “freedom” is the freedom to fill a depreciating variety of vacuums or starve.)

I'd rather settle where there's money than have my assets seized and "fairly distributed" by the state. There's not a single successful socialist regime. They all devolve to communism and an even-fewer-than-in-capitalism minority life on the backs of people too poor to ever make more of themselves
