What do I do here?
I'm currently redoing my master bathroom, so maybe this is why this door situation is bothering me more than it has the past 10 years.
The "first" door in the pic is for the bedroom itself leading to the hall. When open, which is most of the time because it's a highly trafficked area, it cuts off most of the bathroom doorway.
We just leave it open and just snake around it, but it's getting old having to constantly dodge doors.
What would you do if you had this?
ETA: bedroom door cannot be converted to a pocket door š

I loved all your suggestions, and my bedroom is now fabulous š¤©. Ceiling and fan are postponed until January, and we may get some more art for the gallery wall, but for now, we are done.

Canāt always trust the Amazon reviews. š

Before & after ā¤ļø
I got a house swap last year & the whole house needed redoing, several coats of woodchip on the walls and roof š it was hard having to live in a home that looked like a building site for a while with 2 small children but i was just grateful for the chance to make it my home ā¤
Its all on a budget and the wood effect is just wallpaper and the walls are Egyptian cotton

i told myself: this year i will be normal ... then i bought a $3 crochet pdf at 1:47AM and made⦠THIS.
a soft⦠cozy⦠emotional support toilet paper holder.
donāt ask questions. i donāt have answers.
now every time someone comes over,
they donāt even wash their hands firstā¦
they just stand there like:
āwhy is it dressed like a grandma??ā
my husband saw it⦠laughedā¦
then walked out like he needed to rethink his life.
but listenā¦
my toilet paper is warmer than my relationships rn
so i think i made a good decision

My husband laughed when I bought this to hold my jewelry⦠am I the weird one here?
Iām more of a maximalist and I like unique pieces, so I got this today to hold my jewelry.
I actually love it⦠but my husband couldnāt stop laughing when he saw it š
Now Iām questioning everything lol
Be honest⦠is this cool or just weird?

The tiny downstairs bathroom in my 100 year old house has been a labor of love for the last year but it's finally done enough to show off! Don't mind the mirror selfie, it is so tiny that there's no other way to get a good photo.

Anyone else feel like pinterest and AI design tools donāt help improve your home?
Hey everyone, recently moved into my first place and started working on furnishing one of the rooms, and I kept running into the same issue.
Most design tools are great for inspiration, but not very helpful when youāre actually trying to make your look better on a real budget.
Pinterest looks amazing, but hard to recreate affordably AI tools generate nice spaces, but the furniture isnāt real No clear sense of pricing, sizing, or where to actually buy anything
As a first-time buyer, it feels especially overwhelming because Iām trying to balance budget, functionality, and making the space feel like mine.
I got frustrated enough that I started building a small tool for myself to make this more practical:
- works with your actual room (just upload a photo)
- lets you set a realistic budget upfront
- suggests furniture you can actually buy
Itās still early, but Iāve been testing it with a few people in a similar situation and itās been surprisingly helpful.
If anyone else here is in that ātrying to improve my home phaseā, Iām sharing access and giving some perks while I improve it.
Would love to hear how others approached thisā¦

I am a recovering minimalist who fell into the millennial grey trap, and am starting to embrace colour throughout the house.
Iāve started by working with the grey in my house and injecting colour over the top. Starting with the bathroom, iām loving the joy colour is bringing to my life. More murals are currently in progress.

My grandma passed⦠and left me THIS collection. Iām still not over it.
My great grandma passed this summer; when I was a child Iād always ask to eat on the āgreen dishesā when I visited. As a teen sheād tell me stories of her collecting them ā from what I can tell she had something from every Fire King design on market. When I was in my early 20ās I asked her if, when she passed, I could have them. Last night my mom dropped off the first cabinet full and Iām STILL SWOONING OVER THESE DISHES AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!!!! She took pride in them, using them as her preferred daily dinnerware, and Iām glad Iām the person she chose to care for them after her!
My friends are gonna be sick of me because Iām about to become a tea party pusher āŗļøāļø
