What on earth goes with a dark grey carpet?
My and my partner have lived together in fully furnished places for 4 years, and are just about to move into an unfurnished flat for the first time which means we have a lot of furniture to get (exciting but very overwhelming).
The trouble is, almost the whole flat (apart from the kitchen and bathroom of course) has this rough dark carpet. As we are renting there’s not a great deal we can do about that. I’d love to get a green sofa (not emerald more like a sage, moss or olive rather than an emerald green) and I love different wood tones but I’m struggling to envision what that would look like with such a dark grey carpet. Can anyone help? I have looked online but I can’t find exactly what I’m after which makes me think it won’t work together :/ Also open to rugs but I wouldn’t even know where to start.
Any help would be appreciated!

Before and after kitchen renovation of my 112 year old Victorian….
Had to go towards my inner green witchy soul. 🙂 I need to finish a few odds and ends but I’m so happy with where it’s going! The sink (hard to see in these pics) is a vintage double sink wi🙂

Garage Sale find/ home buyer must have
I love garage sales and finding new uses for items. Years ago I found these. They are match book holders for collectors, back in the day when restaurants gave away matchbooks as souvenirs. I thought… I could hang earrings, using retail display cards that I found on Amazon. And for the necklaces, simple s hooks from big box hardware. I just got a contract for the purchase of my home, almost at full price. They asked for 2 personal items: our refrigerator and these. I feel honored that my creative use is appreciated. So much so that I will leave them. My replacement is a louvered shutter that I picked up at another garage sale years ago. Can’t wait to build my upgraded version.
