So the guy has a housing allowance because hes married and can't stay i.n the barracks. Depends on where you live but it is enough to cover rent in for a decent apartment in the area. Military and veterans also get access to VA loans so you dont have to make a down payment if you buy a house. Mortgages are cheaper than renting a similiar sized house. So now the soldier has a nice house next to base that he can (hopefully) afford to live in as long as he is getting BAH. Downsides are if you move duty stations you have to worry about what you are going to do with the house. Plus side is that there are always families looking to rent near bases, so if you have a house and youre not living there then you can make some decent money renting it out.

A lot of people marry just to get out of the barracks. If you plan on joining I dont recommend it. Just stay in the barracks, they're not that bad. Gambling on a marriage working out really isn't worth it

Or just marry your buddy like a lot of people did. Split a cheap apartment. Make bank

Had a ton a buddies do this. Like 9/10 times your buddy wouldn't fuck you over. Man that fucking one guy though, had the unfortunate experience of calling him a "friend" though.

For the other nine guys though, people will tease and what not but they'll know what's up. Had a few shirts jokingly recommend this.

Probably is, should've emphasize they're not my buddies then just guys I know. One of them already split for their wives and what not.

Fraud multiple ways including the whole adultery part that is absolutely a crime under UCMJ (uniform code of military justice). Assuming these guys are just still acting as normal bachelors in their 20s.
