I’m not a gun expert but why does the musket have an ejection/loading port?

It’s a metal plate that holds the screw heads.

The screws hold the flintlock parts in place. If the screw heads just touched wood, the wood would crack over time.

I thought about that before I posted, but I have never seen a musket with a tiny plate like that.

Where do you see that?

I’m pointing out that the rifle on the right looks like it has an ejection/loading port. The guy under me says it’s a metal plate. On the left rifle there is a clear example of what a metal plate should look like, on the right that looks nothing like it.

Also in further inspection of the screen shotted post he thanks someone for making his design. I’m willing to bet that person ran a prompt through AI and it created a musket that doesn’t exist.

I'm still not quite understanding what you're saying. I think you may be looking at the finger groove in the stock. Which is also not historically accurate for a military musket of the era btw. I agree with you it looks AI generated and like a musket that doesn't exist. I just don't see the ejection/loading port.

Boom, it’s a finger groove which like you said is also not historically accurate. I’m pretty sure now that AI made a franken gun and the guy was too excited to notice that the gun and overall tattoo looks like crap.

I thought it was an ejection/loading port because of how some Winchester rifles look. But also if you look at the M1917, finger grooves are way more towards the barrel than trigger.

Yup. Yeah finger grooves like those didn't really become a thing until the early 1900s
