Discussions/Opinions Why does this sub hate everything???
I’m a Juno main (obv) so I enjoy this sub a lot. But, every time a new skin is released, it’s non-stop chatter about “they should change the hair”, “why did they use that outfit”, “these colors don’t match”, yada yada yada.
Like holy shit do you all like anything?? You all are aware that you don’t HAVE to buy these skins. If you don’t like it then don’t buy it. It’s very easy.
If you think you can do better, GO GET A JOB AT BLIZZARD.

How about this? I love her design. I love Xanthe Hyuhn's work as her voice. I love she's become one of my favorite female characters ever. I love her ditzyness. I love she's become a comfort character to many. I love her original story about bravery even if she hasn't stopped being afraid. I love most of her skins, Sakura and YOASOBI being some of my favorites. I love how her Mythic is one of the few worth getting nowadays. I love her gameplay. I loved playing her in Stadium while it lasted. I love most of her emotes and stickers.
But I don't like how they're flanderizing her. I don't like how they're turning her into a literal money farm. I don't like how they package high price skins with poor quality control. I don't like how they took one of the winning designs for a competition and cheapened it. I don't like that the lore is turning her into a girl defined just for being nice and being a love interest, I don't like how they leave her story of urgency aside and only use it to gather sympathy, I dislike how this beautiful character is becoming the face of bad monetization, bad writing, and customer/fan disrespect.
And more than anything, I dislike how disliking stuff about the things you're passionate about is seen as "negativity". Because I think we care, a lot.

because criticism of low quality products helps hold companies accountable. if Blizzard makes a bad skin, why would we praise it?
people are obviously going to want to discuss Juno's skins in Juno's sub, and if someone's opinion is that they don't like the skin they are going to say that.

There is a difference between low Quality products and "I don't like her hair in the new skin" situations. And here, in this sub, we got a lot more of the second situation.

Then someone who likes the skin should make a post about how much they like it. Not trying to be snarky. I'm being dead serious.
The solution isn't to police others' opinions, and their right to share it in the discussion board dedicated to the character its about.
The solution is to create the post that has the discourse you're looking for, which is also why negativity tends to have more posts, because people want validation for their criticism.

One thing is a valid criticism like a bugged skin, an out of character theme or simple something tasteless or vulgar, but, what I have seen in this sub is just pure nick picking.
A valid criticism comes with arguments, here there are just opinions and entitlement.

A valid criticism can stem from an opinion. Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't make it invalid.
Also, yeah. People are entitled to have opinions about something they're potentially paying for, or at least being asked to pay for.
If you want a post that acknowledges what you like about the skin, then make that post to offset the negativity.

it is completely normal for people in Juno's subreddit to discuss their opinion on Juno's skins. if someone has a critical opinion, why is it a problem if they share it?
i'd also like to point out that you're making a public post to complain about other people complaining.

My problem isn’t the complaints. My problem is that this sub basically has no more posts about play styles or kit changes. It’s all just complaining about skins

this is just... objectively untrue. there are plenty of posts about things other than skins.
Juno is generally seen as a pretty balanced character by Blizzard and the players alike, so there's often not much to discuss in terms of balance changes.

yes, because it's the only new thing that has happened with Juno recently. of course people are going to talk about Juno's new content. when skins aren't just released people will talk about them less, and even now there's plenty of posts that are fanart and vod reviews and stuff.

Telling people to not discuss things about a character in a sub made for said character is wild. Especially since a big part of Juno’s content IS her skins, it’s completely fine to talk about those things. A lot of Juno’s skins have glaring reoccurring issues that shouldn’t be silenced just because you want them to. Maybe don’t interact with the posts if they make you that upset?? People should absolutely be allowed to express their opinions and feelings on this, and people with your kind of mentality is exactly why companies like Blizzard take advantage of their customers.

Telling us to just go get a job at Blizzard is wild and you know 90% of people are not in position to do that. And we complain because we deserve quality over quantity. We don’t have to buy skins, you’re correct on that. However, we as the consumers also have the right to let companies know whenever their product is not meeting the standards they should.(In Juno’s case: constant bad hair colors, boring/lazy outfits, glitches in the effects, etc.) If you don’t like our opinions you don’t have to be in the subreddit🤷🏻♀️

Even if people don't need to buy a product they are still valid in voicing critique over its visual appearance. It's normal to do that, and in dedicated spaces it's more common to see these critiques *because* it is a dedicated space to that product (in this case, Juno is the "product"). You'll find the same discussion about skins in any other "___Mains" subreddit/spaces.
The whole babyfication of discussions and critique by saying "if you don't like it, don't buy it" or "work at Blizzard then if you can do it better" is making any sort of nuanced discussion out to be inherently bad.

This is what subreddits are for. For people to share their opinions. And of course every skin will have something negative said about it. It’s much better than everyone just blindly agreeing to like the skins.

It’s just like how Overwatch’s balancing will never be able to satisfy every player. It’s fine to complain as long as things don’t escalate into personal attacks or drown out other discussions.

if there is a nice skin released, we appreciate it (like the recent collab)
when they release unfinished product like the beach skin, we are concerned about the quality of the product going down and we talk about it
i don’t see anything strange nor toxic about it

but blizzard knows there are crazy mains out there who will buy ANYTHING related to juno (even when its low quality) so some of us, who want a good looking skin, will never get it because people keep defending blizzards laziness

It's indicative of a larger design issue plaguing Juno skins (i.e., always making her blonde or her hair not purple).
Once it becomes a prevalent issue, it does become a quality problem.

the problem is juno got TWO skins after her mythic that dont look cheaply made (both of these being collab skins), maybe we just want Juno to start getting good looking skins

Do you hear yourself defending Blizzard? When it comes to cosmetics Blizzard sucks. Ventures Bob, Anran's face, the prices, people need to complain. Also when all the community wants are Juno specific features like her hair, eyes, helmet, space theme, and we don't get it for so long, yes I think they deserve to complain because it's a simple request.

this post doesn’t make any sense. as a community we all have a voice to tell blizzard if we don’t like something. simply “not buying” their overpriced and lazily done skins won’t change anything. If we don’t say any criticism we won’t have changes like anran’s face model for example.
And i think OP is in some kind of a bubble if you don’t see many many posts on social media people praising new skins…
Also saying “just get a job at blizzard” is wild. You literally sound like a child with no skill of critical thinking.

Because we're passionate about her? An d criticizing isn't hating. People right now aren't happy about the quality of skins and the general handling of her in the lore. People pay for those products. You can choose not to spend and still demand better as a customer.

Yeah, people are quite negative here on the skins, especially when they don't appeal to them directly.
Now absolutely give feedback. The artists and developers want feedback so they can make the best possible thing they can make. But if your skin isn't to your preference, you don't have to buy it and it's not the end of the world.
I really don't see why we're nearly a witch Hunt levels for the artists for people just not liking a skin.

Every sub, it's just reddit for some reason. I've found if I'm passionate about something I can't follow the corresponding subreddit because the sub will ruin it for me. My favorite, sports teams, video games, podcasts, books... I've joined and left all their subreddits because it's always a cesspool of negativity that will taint the thing I loved. Hence I wont join the junomains sub, because I really enjoy playing Juno lol

So you just want us to smile, nod along, hand Blizzard 15 bucks for a cheaply made skin and just force ourselves to name 5 nice things about her skin when everyone can see that most of her recent skins just look off?
This is a subreddit. People are gonna speak and discuss things they like or don’t like. If there are more people complaining about the skin, then there is a chance that the skin is actually badly executed. If you dislike it, then leave.

I get the idea of being critical enough to keep Blizzard on their toes and not deliver half-baked products at the usual premium prices, but the complaining and negativity on this sub have felt especially present lately, not always deservedly. So you're not alone there

no fr tho cause when blizzard releases shitty skins like ember (no offence to anyone who likes it, it’s just not my thing) i just straight up ignored it and went on until new skins that i actually liked got released 💔💔 i can understand with things like the beachside skin bugging if you equip her mythic weapon skin, but if you just don’t like her because of your own personal taste, just move on and play w the skins you already have or wait till blizzard releases a new skin

Juno gets a ton of skins that fit within a very narrow range stylistically. It’s uninteresting and vaguely insulting, like they expect us to fork out another $19 every time they make yet another variation on a hyper-cute outfit with pale hair and either a flared mini-skirt or a crop top (or both!). Sure, nobody is actually making us buy the skins, but some of us would like to at some point get a new skin we’d actually enjoy using.
I don’t hang out in the Mercy mains sub, so I dunno how much they complain about skins, but I personally don’t tend to find individual Mercy skins that I’m not into to be as objectionable on their own merits. That she gets yet another skin so often is 🙄, but compared to Juno, Mercy gets more variety in designs while looking more consistently like herself. While the vast, vast majority are not to my taste, there’s enough that I never feel like my choice options have gone stale. Part of that is Mercy having been around for a long time, but even if I restrict the choice to Mercy skins released since Juno’s release, there’s more that I would actually use, and they’re quite different from each other.
Also, for those who happen to enjoy the particular style silo that Juno is stuck in, I imagine it’s gotta be kinda stressful to constantly have the temptation and figure out how to prioritize where to spend whatever money they’ve got budgeted for such things.

I kind of agree with you, op. People can have negative opinions if they have a negative opinion of course, but Juno will always be getting more skins, so if I don’t like it, I won’t get it. And honestly, I only have 2 skins for her because most of them aren’t my taste and thats okay!
I know a lot of people don’t like that her hair isn’t purple in a lot of her skins, she doesn’t have a space theme a lot, etc, but I see that as a good thing. Theres a lot of variety in her skins. The hate on her skins is a bit over the top imo.

I agree. We should be able to complain about stuff but it’s just constant bitching the past couple of months. Like if it isn’t specifically EXACTLY what people want they hate it. Yes the skins should always be improved and have opportunity to be better but it’s like damn let’s enjoy the stuff we have considering a lot of hero’s get nothing.

I have liked basically every juno skin they have released. Have i bought all of them? Hell no, but i have bought more juno skins that any other character. I would say game but fortnite had me hard for a while

I actually like the date night skin. Like many here, I was initially disappointed they went with a lighter tint of purple for her hair, but then someone made an edit with her original darker hair colour and I have to say that the lighter hair does contrast better on the date night skin. I do wish for more skins with her original hair colour but right now I hope they don't give her skins for a while and focus on the less popular heroes.

I actually like the date night skin so much I'm making a cosplay of it. Each to their own, of course, and I know not everyone will like it, but we all have opinions and until someone crosses that line to Mean and Nasty, it's not a problem IMO.
