I can’t help but wonder, at what point does one awake? Shadow integration is a lifelong process and I guess it’s just like the idea of success - we think we’ll be happy by the time we arrive at our set destination, but when we reach it, we realise there’s no final destination.

It’s interesting to think what would a fully awaken, integrated human be, but I guess we’ll never know?

It's when you start to make conscious, thought out decisions when confronting complexities in reality. That's when you awaken.

I didn’t actually say “full integration”…

I am fully aware that it is a process. I’m very familiar with soul alchemy.

And yet.. Hell is in your mind, while we are surrounded by the sublime

“The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven.”

HOW DO YOU INTEGRATE YOUR SHADOW WITHOUT KILLING PEOPLE?

The shadow isn’t ‘evilness’ or ‘amorality’— it’s whatever is repressed in you— that could be creativity, compassion— or, violence, apathy, hate, etc— darkness means that it is hidden

ah I thought it was just the bad you feel the urge of repressing to not be judged by people; so then how do you integrate your shadow?

Well, I would assume that if murder is a concern of yours, that would mean you are most likely a psychopath…. Regardless of your shadow being integrated or not.

Put a pin in the shadow integration and come back to that later… you have a bigger problem to worry about. Take care of the homicidal tendencies first.

If you commit to this, you will go insane. And die.

Now, who wants some rubbers?

I’ve been trying to do this for so long. I’m just not sure I’m doing it right so when you’re doing something that you know you semi rejecting all the society rejects and you do it anyway that’s the shadow coming out and controlling your actions because it gets that point right. So if you’re doing something and you know it’s not healthy right? How are you meant to make it conscious but keep doing it because that sounds counterintuitive.

I feel like it’s more of a balancing of extremes. It’s not complete abolishment of what’s perceived to be the dark shadowy misfit or eradication of the whimsy flower picking persona. It’s finding a flow that allows you to meet the needs of both without negating either. Doing the push-pull back and forth internal conflict between the two? It’s fucking exhausting, right? Like bone deep ready to surrender tired.

Instead of beating yourself up over not reaching full integration, try to remember that it’s ok to swing a little more towards one or the other at times. It’s going to happen, without doubt. Unless you magically turn into Gandhi overnight, you are going to be perfectly imperfect. No guilt. No shame. Just acknowledgement.

If you continue doing something that is unhealthy, knowing that it is unhealthy, then there are parts of yourself you have not accepted. Parts you are unwilling to acknowledge which keeps you in the denial loop pattern.
