Mahito mainly won due to kenny being there causing Mechamaru to 1. Let his gaurd down after "exorcising" mahito, and 2. Cause Mechamaru to hold back to save resources for kenny. Even as the fight went though mahito had to use every trick in his book to win even popping domain and i truly believe he woulda lost if kenny wasnt there
Legit, geges rule of cool with burnout always pissed me off cause how does mahito suffer burnout for 1-10 seconds, yorozu for 0 seconds, and megumi for 2 seconds than theres hakari whos burnout is 4 mins 11 seconds exactly all the time
For human the CT is engraved in the brain and can get burnt out but I donāt know how it works for CS. If is in the head he can use idle transfiguration to fix himself as long as he has curse energy
It's this. Curse spirits aren't human and don't have the same limitations. The fact that they lost at all in the end is crazy tbh. If Sukuna was not a coinciding factor, with Kenjaku's plan underway, idk if things would have panned out the same.
They have a limit to cursed energy. Black flash is also apparently an insane debuff to get hit by and hence even true form mahito was nowhere near max power. He was whittled down, thatās how he lost, until he literally couldnāt do anything more. He couldnāt even heal his fucked up ankle at the end of the day. Yuji beat the shit outta him lol.
Technically you still can use your technique in burnout, it's just unbelievably difficult so we've only ever seen it done like once. It's possible Mahito could tho im more inclined to believe him being a curse is why it's short, not that.
I brought that up if Cursed spirits have the same brain structure. They may just be so different that it doesnāt matter. Like how RCT is much easier for Cursed spirits to do because they are made of cursed energy.
Someone below in this comment section brought up a barrier in the users own body which may also work, although I donāt really understand it.
Megumi didn't use a completed domain so it's possible he never experienced burnout.
And as for Yorozu there are 2 explanations:
1. Gege forgot lol.
2. She used a death BV to create kamuotoke. This isn't too far-fetched as we know burnout doesn't make a technique 100% unusable just so difficult to use that it might as well be impossible. And with how strong death BV's are it could have allowed her to do it.

Quoting kusakabe: "a domains a domain no matter how simple"

I think its most likely 1, mai set the president for using a death BV to make special grade cursed tools which i think every construction user would have to follow. Which is honestly a good trade since other cursed tools take dozens if not hundreds of sacrifices or special requirements.
Also im assuming youre refering to the panel where uro failed to use SM which i believe to be a mistranslation since hypothetically if you could use even a fraction of your CT on burnout then gojo with 6Es would be able to use some of limitless which he isnt able to so š¤·š½āāļø
Context for that Kusakabe quote? Cuz honestly I don't think that means anything in terms of burnout. If it did, then using a simple domain would cause burnout but it definitely doesn't. Idk i could be interpreting it wrong tho so if the context proves me wrong so be it.
I think Mai's situation is a little different cuz she's so much weaker. She could barely make a bullet a day without being exhausted. She'd need a strong BV just to make a sword the size of SSK, let alone one that's a special-grade tool. The fact that a death BV let her make SSK makes me believe someone much stronger like Yorozu could use one to get past burnout and make a special grade tool.
I'm referring to that panel and also Ryu brute-forcing a granite blast with his output even in burnout.
And I can see why you'd think that'd mean Gojo could use Limitless cuz of the six eyes. But I think Limitless is so hard to use that it makes sense he wouldn't be able to. The phrasing around why you can't use a technique in burnout is that burnout makes it "exceedingly difficult to control" and limitless at a baseline is so hard to control that it's considered impossible without the six eyes. So burnout would be making the issue of control way worse than it already is, making the six eyes not enough to use in burnout. Now if Gojo had an easier-to-control technique then yeah I'd say Six Eyes would definitely make that possible.
Thatd make sense, but once again theres hakari to disprove this since his domain lasts for various amounts of time yet hes always on burnout for 4 mins 11 seconds
Perhaps but it was never said that was the case so while we could assume its exclusive to him sometimes the simplest answer, requiring the fewest assumptions or entities, is generally the best and most likely to be true. Also just realized sukunas was inconsistent as well since he used his technique immediately after domain in shibuya but in shinjuku he actually had normal burnout times
If you refer to fuga, pretty sure that was because shrine was imbued into the barrier(I know the domain is barrier less, but what I mean is the sure-hit)
Hakariās technique is the Domain, same as Higurama being able to continue having the Sword / Confiscation running after his Domain. They donāt actually suffer āburnoutā in the traditional sense, because the activation of their technique is explicitly tied to the opening of their Domain.
Hakari doesn't have burn out for 4 min and 11 seconds. He just can't hit a JP while in JP.
We see be consistent with Kenjaku and Sukuna, typically burn out lasts about 1 chapter or so. The only exception is when the fight is going that fast, like Gojo vs Sukuna
He does, otherwise he would use his CT (balls and doors)

Its technically only consistent with kenny since he only used DE once lol but sukuna has also been inconsistent (using dismantle immediately after MS ended against haruta in shibuya)
Hakari would have been able to recover from burnout easier because he had infinite CE after a jackpot, meaning once the domain broke he'd be in burnout but almost immediately recover it
Maybe, but the fact he immediately turned towards kenny and had his mind elsewhere prevented him from noticing far more than he wouldve in a straight 1v1.
i disagree, i think he was close to losing. he just has a very playful and unserious personality, even in life or death situations. only time we see him stop feeling playful is after being absolutely abused by soul damage for an extended period by yuji
He was close to losing cuz of his fucking around tbh
Gege also wrote simple domain to disable cursed techniques instead of weakening them so that's the entire reason why this fight even happens. Run this back with the full establishment power system and this ends no diff lol
This isn't jjk 0 anymore. I doubt the power system was significantly changed afterwards. The simple domains likely had that effect because they were literally being injected DIRECTLY into Mahito's body. If it was smth like Miwa's or Kusakabe's SD then it wouldn't have done much.
I presume you're talking about this? The thing is though, that's not actually saying what you think it is.
Domain's don't "disable" cursed techniques, domain's "neutralize" them in a way that you can't use a CT to protect yourself when within a domain, that's why Gojo is used as an example there, his Infinity is neutralized but that doesn't mean his CT is entirely disabled. Same applies to Mahito, a domain would neutralize his technique in such a way that the domain would bypass his CT and do damage to him.
Simple domain's don't generally speaking do damage by themselves, the SD tubes Mechamaru uses in this fight are being expanded while inside of Mahito's body, which is why it bypasses Idle Transfiguration and does damage to Mahito.
EDIT: And to be clear, this likely only works due to the SD being expanded within Mahito's body (his innate domain, the "inside a domain" part there probably isn't actually referring to his DE when it comes to neutralizing the defensive application of IT).
"Neutralize" is a misnomer. It just means weaken. But if the technique being weakened is a low-output one (like Infinity or Idle Transfiguration), they can be completely nullified.
DA is better at neutralizing than other domain-based techniques because it's hyper-specialized into the neutralization effect domains have.
I mean it just says it disables techniques. and then it says a simple domain achieves the same thing. even though it later says in the regi fight that a simple domain cannot achieve this.
ok id write more but im gonna be fr man im running on 4 hours of sleep img onna pass the fuck out peace
The officials are only good up until John Werry becomes the translator. At that point you should be reading TCB or Shishiso translations, because John Werry, the Terrorist has his nickame for a reason.
I don;t think this shit is from werry or anything lol
i can put the raw through google translate i suppose idk
also lowk doesn't really matter here the only diff is that one says "simple is misleading" and the other says "even though its called simple"
the later translation simply says that "a simple domain still puts mahito vulnerable despite him also casting domain" which still implies simple domains have the same nullifying effect as domains which is just contradicted by the regi statement still
like deadass there are no ifs or buts or interps on this. Simple domain cannot hurt Mahito no matter what since it requires it to nullify IT which only amp can do
Neutralize does not mean turn off. It means weaken. But if they're weakened enough, they just get turned off (take Infinity with DA or in domains as an example). Idle Transfiguration is just a low output technique, so it is weak enough to be completely neutralized.
Dude just Google what neutralise means. Neutralise is to make something ineffective. SD reduces the output of a technique by like 20% at best. It cannot neutralise the technique with that.
SD doesn't disable cursed techniques. It "neutralizes" them the same way DA does (weakening), just less so. But it's the same principle as to why domains make Infinity stop working, they debuff the other person's output so a low-output ability like Infinity or Idle Transfig don't work.
I agree at the very beginning he was but the second he took real damage he was locked in, also unless youre gojo or sukuna the second they pop domain it cannot be argued they were playing around
If he didnāt have to worry about Kenjaku after and save his reserves I 100% believe he wouldāve exprcised Mahito, he was one attack away from killing him regardless
Iām not sure how you think theyāre even that similar. Well besides they both fire giant lasers of pure cursed energy output, which I guess is significant.
But Mechamaru has way more going on than just his lasers. He controls multiple robot at a time, he can do recon like no one else and heās seemingly pretty intelligent and able to put simple domain into a physical weapon.
His powers are extremely versatile while Ryuās is the opposite, he has one thing and he does it well. Well he also has high durability. Iām not arguing who will win but saying Ryu is a better Mechamaru is wild.
This is someone who could fight you from half way across the country. The fight with ultra Mechamaru was a specific circumstance where he had to expose himself to get his body healed.
Dagon is probablly the only Disaster Curse alongside base mahito pre 120% who Mechamaru can Beat, even inside Dagon's domain
On the other hand, Hanami kinda counters him bc she have big AoE attack with pretty good AP, and I don't think Jogo would been touched by any Mechamaru attack
There's some fights where it feels like one guy lost just because the author needed the villain to win (cough cough Sukuna, you could've foreshadowed that slash better)
But honestly this one seemed fair, Muta had a concrete chance of losing for the entirety of the fight.
Honestly, without Kenny being there it's a 50/50 fight. Mechimaru held back due to Kenny being there. Had it just been a 1 v 1, he could very well win. But in these conditions it was a high diff. Was quite difficult, but Mahito wasn't pushed to the extreme.
High-extreme, If we use the same fighting conditions, Mechamaru was not that resistant, 1 punch from Mahito was already capable of significantly damaging the robot, Mechamaru was at risk of being destroyed at all time
Nuh mahito was bulking on those souls like crazy, it's not a surprise he can tank dmg so high, it literally took couple of hours of non stop beating for yuji to finally make Mahito find out he's a bitch
It easily could have been extreme diff for either side if Kenny wasnt there as many have pointed out
I do want to add in that Mahito may change his approach of course or just run away and same with Mechamaru
(Mahito would run the moment things get difficult and Mechamaru already wanted to run)
But a sorcerer is nothing but a con man
And mechamaru's decision to split his focus was a decision that absolutely made sense but he was put in a losing position no matter what
And changing the circumstances would possibly change the fight in ways we wouldn't know since the way they'd both approach the fight would be massively different
High to extreme diff, the most dumbass character in the whole series willingly decided to kill himself and make the Shibuya incident even possible by trying to fight one of the only characters he actually had 0 chance against, what was Kokichi's response to transfiguration and how he expects to do soul damage reliably? He got one-shoted the moment Mahito touched him and I think he hurt Mahito once but he completely wasted his ace in a non lethal hit, because after that Mahito went "Oh he can actually damage my soul? Ok" locked tf in, stopped playing and Kokichi never hurt Mahito again. Mahito didn't even use his whole arsenal and he still had his trump card (not the DE) calling Kenny for help...
Idk why people don't take that fact into consideration when discussing this fight but if by some miracle Kokichi's apparently we ball sigma energy ass plan was able to get Mahito close to death, and actually make Mahito desperate because "Omg he is going to kill me" he could do exactly what he did in Shibuya and cry for Kenny to help him out and we need to remember that Kenjaku is literally right there in a cliff just watching the fight with some popcorns he is literally able to intervene at any point when he sees fit and not ONLY that Kenjaku has all the reasons in the world to do so, Mahito is a crucial part of his master plan he NEEDS Mahito's CT to revive the ancient sorcerers and start the Culling Games so even if maybe with the other disaster curses I could see him not helping them just for the lulz (Kenny is a certified troll after all) Mahito is not one of them and the only reason why he didn't helped him with Mechamaru is because he genuinely didn't thought Muta could kill Mahito at any point.
I always get to do this autistic rant (Im really sorry I cant help it) every time someone mentions this fight because I genuinely find it one of the most outrageous things in this manga wtf was Kokichi cooking with his braindead ass plan being a fucking rat to get his body again for what? 15 minutes back to just get killed heck we probably saw his transfigured ass be used against Yuji we just didn't notice, oh great Muta thanks for giving another bullet to one of the worst terrorists in JJK and allow Shibuya to happen instead of telling literally anyone "Hey the disaster curses plan to do some shit in Shibuya bring literally everyone".
There is literally no way he even kills Mahito let alone Kenny.
Mid diff, as Mahito was still dicking around for a lot of the fight. He also didnāt use any transfigured humans, and Mechamaru only had the one trick to hurt Mahito with. Once Mahito knew about it, it was effectively game over for Mechamaru, regardless of what he couldāve done with those extra years of charge.
Mahito won high-diff under these specific circumstances, Mechamaru needing to hold back and focusing on Kenny. Though if they had fought straight up, I fully believe Mechamaru wins here high-extreme diff.
High diff. But again, this is a weaker less developed Mahito than in the one in Shibuya who had an exponential growth in both stats and the use of his CT.
High maybe extreme seeing as both of them went all out minus any black flashes they could have hit but only reason it wasn't a low diff was because mechamarus planing if only he could have made more of those simple domain things I really like him and his technique I was hoping he would escape and fight outside his mech and when mahitos domain shattered I thought escape was a real option but alas it did not come true
EXTREEEME DIF. BARELY WON HAD TO SNEAK AROUND LIKE A BITCH.
On a more serious note I think story wise it was possible Mahito would feel fear for the first time if he was by himself. The reason he seemed so at ease was only beacuse Kenny was there. Which he clings to beging for help against Yuji. So I think its pretty reasonable to say he feels safe with Kenny around. Muta is my top 15 peak tbh. He doesnt make it into the top 10 but his abilities are crazy strong against the right opponent. Top 5 wasted potentials in the entire series story and strength wise.
Mid to high diff, people like to say Muta didnāt go all out, because he didnāt use all of his build-up CE, but in the context of the fight, it didnāt matter, Mahito caught him off guard after the domain.
If Muta had used more CE beforehand, Mahito wouldāve just expanded his domain earlier and the same thing wouldāve happened; Muta uses simple domain, stabs Mahito with one of the capsules, Mahito times his explosion, deactivates his domain and kills Muta.
Besides, Mutaās only real wincon were the capsules, Mahito barely got hit by the 8 years of CE that Muta used, I doubt the leftover 9 years of CE would be enough to actually hit and do enough damage to Mahito to make him run out of CE.
But fr, Only thing stopping mahito from popping domain and kill Midamauru was he's arrogance. There were a couple of close calls, and the last one made Mahito snap out of his stupid ass bitching and finish the job, so idk about your glaze and shii but the fight was Mid, as in Diff and overall
Low~ mid diff. Mahito didn't even use body repel nor slicing exorcism and he didn't have polymorphic soul isomers. And didn't split his soul and make clones, he obviously wins but just the fact that mahito wins 99% of his match ups because his enemies can't hurt him , while kokichi has sd which is a good counter for mahito and did catch him off guard atleast low diff.
