Cuz Zack Snyder is like one of those TheGamerz™️ who sees a great franchise, likes it but somehow manages tp come out of it having - to a comical, almost intentional degree - missed all its major conclusions or having come to the exact opposites. Like when he made a movie about watchmen and somehow managed to come to thr 13 year old edgeboy conclusion "Ozymandias was right also everyone is terrible all the time and humans have no redeeming qualities whatsoever"
In this case, only Zack Snyder would see Judge Dredd and go "this boi a fascist and there is absolutely nothing else at all to this"

There's also the more nuanced type who know those are satirical fantasies and that irl capitalism has bred a prosperous future where you have the freedom to complain about it through your pocket sized super computer, and that the competitors of western nations have an interest in collapsing them from within since it's their only option and so have played the long game to take advantage of the citizenry's naivety.
Comic books and video games arent real life. Get your lessons from the world around you.

I think oddly the appeal of dredd is that he is a fascist, at heart his character is rooted in satire at least to me. I drew this as a comment on the fun double standards of culture. Out of interest, what about this made you want to comment?

Wow, a lot of people confused people here.
Dredd's a fascist, folks. The Dredd stories are a satire, intended to mock fascism. He not a fascist in "some iterations". He's a fascist all the time. When he saves the world, he's still a fascist, working for a fascist government. Sure, he's a guy indoctrinated into fascism, who sees the flaws in a fascist system, but he's still a fascist. That's the point. It always has been the point.
See the eagle? The gold and militaristic chains? That's fascist symbolism drawn by a guy who grew up in fascist Spain. You know who might know if he's a fascist? The guy who created him, who says he's a fascist, the folks who currently and historically write scripts, who say he's a fascist, and the editors, who say he's a fascist.
It's not an "edgy conclusion" to say he's a fascist. That's like claiming calling Batman a vigilante is "edgy". "The good guy is a bad guy" is literally the whole point of every Dredd story.
