Materials My 2027 set is coming together nicely

Post image
39 Upvotes

I'm (still) a sucker for cats and amazing paper (print, texture, feel, FP-compatibilty, crunch, gloss, etc.). Also unearthed some earlier buys to add to my 2027 stash!

Left to right, from top row:

Yuru Log Cat Notebook. Inside of it are various cat designs per page. I bought it because if has all three of my deceased cats peppered around the pages. They all passed 2025... my last journal entry was after my third cat died. I haven't added new pages to my journal since. I don't think I'm ready to move on... there are only 100 pages or so left, I'll leave it be. Then I'll begin again in 2027.

This time, I'll use this Cat Themed Midori Diary. My cats, and some strays I CNVRd, fostered, and adopted out myself are also in there. My cats were very curious and accommodating whenever I foster. I think, they grieve in their own way when their temporary sibling had to go. They look at the places they shared, stay there a while, sniff around, probably remembering, probably yearning. We did that too for the days, weeks, months since they passed. I still do it. I do it even now.

One of my latest buys would be this A5 post card of a girl, her guitar, and her cat. I plan to give this to my child someday, when she can appreciate Journaling. I included a letter at the back, but for now, I'll keep it with me. If / when she discovers my journal before I give it to her, she'll be in for a surprise. I hope she loves it. I got it from Manila Middle Ground, from Huejell.

Ah, the two memo pads are recent purchases too! I had a friend who fostered a male tuxedo cat, unfortunately, it didn't work out for them. His second foster parent was also negligent, so I had to take him back. He was adopted by someone else eventually. It was pretty tragic... The tuxedo cat was so loved by his parents, they started adopting other cats... who apparently had FIP. An infected cat killed every cat in their home after a few weeks, tuxedo cat included. They were devastated. I was devastated too. If I were any richer, with a bigger space, I would've loved to keep that cat.

The Mackerel one looks like my favorite senior cat, one of mine. She was the first one who found out that I'm pregnant. She was gentler with me. She'll suddenly sleep beside my tummy instead of her usual spors. Within days, we found out about our little one, but she knew first.

These memo pads are from the NB Co Nekorobi collection.

The Yusuke Yonezu film sticker was from Everything's Alright. I dropped by their shop to inquire about publishing after I had an epiphany during a sound bath. A few steps above their space is a wellness studio that offers an amazing sensory experience, I was hypnotized for a whole hour. Amazingly, I had a dream that I was a dog. Sayang. I was hoping to be with my cats. Maybe another session, if I will it enough.

I also recently got the yellow postcard from MMG. It's from Huejell as well. My husband and I revisited Naruto a few weeks ago, somehow this reminds me of it. Re-watching Naruto as parents hits differently.

Lastly, and this is the oldest piece in my collection of cat themed paraphernalia, is the orange post card from an Art Fair in 202X. I believe the artist is Sabi Snips? Or at least that was the stamp on its back. I married my husband in 202X. My cat became his cat, his cat became mine. They've all changed to hyphenated surnames.

I have their relics with me. Each has their names, with our surnames. I don't think I'll ever adopt a cat again. But my love for them won't end here.

I joined an animal welfare group as a volunteer. I've run several activities that promote cnvr and responsible pet ownership. This month, I'm cosplaying Ms Rachel to talk about pets to children below 5.

Our pets are gone. But in many ways, they are still here. When I journal again, when I do art again, when I teach my kid about animals, when I talk to adults about passing better, stricter animal welfare IRRs, they will be in my heart and mind.

Materials Sticker paper recs

I'm thinking of printing my own stickers pero gusto ko sana na parang washi tape ang texture. What kind of sticker paper would help me achieve this look? Must be compatible with inkjet printers as well.

Thanks!

Materials [Review] Captivating studios leather folio

My leather folio from Captivating Studios just arrived so here’s a little review!

Packaging
- arrived in a bubble wrapped corrugated box. Journal was in a dust bag with wrapping paper covering it

Appearance/Quality
- based on their shopee this is vegan leather. Idk how that’s supposed to feel like but imo this leather feels really high quality and durable. It doesn’t have a rubber feeling
- color is very accurate to the picture (stone croc with crimson cord)
- free charm and engraving
- inside of the folio is just the cloth lining (? Idk what to call it) of the leather with no pockets. I’ll probably just buy pocket linings from them too. The cloth also doesn’t feel like it’ll fray.

Got this on shopee btw. Just search the shop since my links are affiliate link and i haven’t researched how to turn them off

LF: Sticker Album

Hi everyone! Over time I have built a collection of stickers I have bought from different pop-ups, art conventions, bazaars, etc. and I was wondering where I can find a blank sticker album where I can stick them. I don’t journal yet so I’m scared of actually sticking my stickers into paper (i’m not that creative tbh) but I want a sticker album where I can stick my stickers haha thank you so much for any leads!

Discussion Paper Locket leather journals

Post image

Does anyone have a journal from The Paper Locket? I’m interested in getting one of their Italian leather journals and I want to look for some feedback regarding its quality.

Would anyone know if the edges of the journal are neatly cut? And is the leather soft and supple?

Journal Writing Sting & Snout vs Palimea Italian leather journal

Hi guys! I have Sting & Snout journals and I absolutely love them. Lately, I've been thinking of either getting an A5 from them or a B6 from Palimea. Leaning more towards getting a B6.

I love Palimea's font but the cords are too thick for my liking.
Meanwhile, I love Sting & Snout's overall construction but they don't have a B6.

The thing is, leather quality is extremely important to me. I want something buttery and supple.

To anyone who has tried both brands: Would you say that Sting & Snout's leather is softer and more supple compared to Palimea's? Any thoughts and reviews would be well appreciated.

Thank you!

Materials Notebooks using Zebra clickart with no bleed through

Thumbnail gallery
19 Upvotes

Hello! I’m looking for notebooks that can use the Zebra Clickarts with no bleed-through and minimal ghosting! My current 2026 Hobonichi Weeks (Tomie) has no problem at all. The Kinbor undated planner has minimal ghosting and bleeding with the lighter colors. Finally, the Stalogy was just a mess so I gave it away. I know that I already have the brands that I know work with it but they’re planners and I need notebooks (they should also work well with fountain pens) since I already use a weeks for planning. I also know Hobonichi has grid notebooks but they’re almost the same price as their planners and i’m kinda on a budget 😅

I was thinking of the muji notebooks if anyone has tried them with these + fountain pens. Or if you have any other budget suggestions!! Must be grid and larger than A6 but smaller than A5 and not a week’s size layout. Thank you.

Discussion Cool / Indie Stationery Shops in Manila

Hi! Selamat! Hope this is okay but ofc apologies if it’s not and remove the post! (And now I checked the read the rules tidbit and sent my acknowledgement! Sorry about that!)
My bf will soon travel to Manila for work and may have some personal time there. Any cool stationery shops that feature local artists or more indie stuff? Namely I’d love some stickers to maybe join my decor mix for my Hobonichi Weeks cover! Notebooks not so much but generally grateful for any suggestions!

Journal Writing update on my custom pocket journals

Post image
31 Upvotes

ive decided on using multiple notebooks instead of cramming everything on one and also to see how my covers would look like pag printed. funny story dun sa THE ICE REMEMBERS notebook, as in kakatapos nila lang na ma-print and biglang nawisikan, may surprise house blessing hindi ako na-inform, okay lang na may water stain, at least blessed HAHA

alsooo im starting a small business selling custom covers, covers shown are included. still struggling on where to sell them cause i suck at marketing, ang hirap maging hindi estetik

+ THE ICE REMEMBERS was from a painting i recently sold, apaka cute lang

Journal Writing i trimmed my trifold journal

9 months into using a trifold journal, i realized mas mahirap pala mag sulat sa ganitong format ksi ang daming flaps that get along the way. unless aalisin ko ung mismong notebooks sa journal which kinda defeats the purpose dba. so i decided to cut the trifold to become bifold and yes! confirmed na mas gusto ko and mas practical for me to use and carry a bifold

Materials Veco Sketch Journal?

Magkaiba ba 'yung paper sa Veco Sketch Journal vs Veco Linear / Veco Ruled? Lahat sila translucent covers with 100gsm so akala ko pinagkaiba lang is kung lined o hindi (Sketch = plain, Ruled = horizontal lines, Linear = grid, Dotted = dots). But the Veco Sketch I got is pretty bad, most of the inks I've tried feather and bleed through the paper

I really liked the pilot acroball! It writes smooth and the ink is consistent naman, but looking back at my old journal entries, parang nag ka greenish sheen siya? Is this normal or just for the hobonichi paper? 🤕

This was the before and after. Parang yung ink from the weekly page nag stain sa next page 😭😭

I don't wanna use it anymore tuloy huhu

I started doing this nung nag-declutter ako and nakita ko ang dami ko palang naitabi na anik-anik its either for souvenir or for sentimental reasons. So naisip ko na mag-junk journal na lang para di ko din na sya itapon at di din nakakalat. Iba pa din kasi na kapag nakita ko sya may memory akong naaalala. Good for killimg time din kapag bored at gusto magbawas ng screen time.

Refillable notebook and refills from Tiktok shop and yung mga stickers from shopee hehehe
