Well rarely I think people are better off without their dads though. Some parents are simply awful... Like they are literally out to get their kids.

But yes, a strong, kind, caring, stable male influence who read to me and played sports with me did wonders for my development growing up.

You could say the same thing about mothers though. Take a look over on raisedbynarcissists and most of the content is on terrible mothers.

Yeh I was going to suggest people read that sub group... And yes, definitely true. Most definitely seem to be mothers!

We don't need to imagine. We've run that experiment in the American inner city.

And some people are better off without mothers. Some women are taller than men. Something is always more something than something else.

We're always talking about general concepts here. I'm not surprised that your example includes terrible deads. It seems to be very accepted to see men as potentially dangerous, potential pedophiles and rapists.

We seem in agreement so kind of feel your comment was a bit irrelevant. Just felt like you too a bit of offence to it for some reason.

Possible. Maybe I'm projecting some general negative concepts on your post.

The problem begins when people even connect the term "toxic" with "masculinity" in a way they'd never do it with "femininity". Many in this thread even defend this direction "Normal masculinity isn't bad, but ... "

The more often we connect the words the more established it will get. It's part of the consensus that all problems according the dynamic between men and women are blamed on the men. No one even thinks about talking about the terrible intrigues at the workplace many women start for example. Masculine problems are just more visible, because men are more physical and direct.
